Clams Jettison Janky Logo

The management of the Drunken Clams was presented with a lawsuit yesterday from the creators of the animated series, "Family Guy." The center of the civil suit was the unauthorized use and adaptation of the image of the bar made famous by the oft-inebriated Peter Griffin and his friends. Coach Simon said to one reporter, "On the one hand, I'm pissed. What's their major malfunction? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show them enough attention when they were a child? Didn't they ever learn how to share? But on the other hand, it's probably all for the best. The old logo was janky. It looked like some 13yo boy threw it together in five minutes. I mean really? A cartoon freeze-frame and some clip-art basketballs? Who's gonna take our team seriously when our logo is tragically half-a$$ed?"

Meowsy McDermott, feline legal representation for Seth McFarlane, made this official statement. "Mr. McFarlane is purr-fectly within his rights to throw his kitty litter-gation all over this team."

Today, visitors to the team website were greeted with a new logo which has met with general approval. Millard Smith said, "Well, it's better than what we had before." "I love the new logo! I'm going to send new T-shirts to my nephews in Brazil right away!" commented Valtinho Louzano.

The verdict from early merchandise sales is good, but we'll get a better idea about that in Monday's report.
