Velsaco Stole The Ball!

ROUNDHOUSE - A steal by Omar Velasco with seven seconds left sealed the Conference Finals victory for UTCMocs, 100-97 over Omaha Racers.

The loss ended the Racers' season, and extended a six-game stretch of futility against the Mocs.

"I'm completely out of witty remarks," said Jerry Midwest. "I'm even out of witty remarks about how I'm out of witty remarks."

After trailing by 23 early in the game, and by 9 with two and a half minutes to play, the Racers had cut the lead to one on a Federico Amoroso (7147920) three-pointer with 19 seconds left. Bert Kowalski (13193316) was intentionally fouled, and converted one of two free throws, giving Omaha a chance to the tie the game, or win it with a three-pointer. The Racers were clearly trying for the latter, but Velasco deflected a kickout pass from David Mobuta (9217177) and were able to run out the clock.

UTCMocs will face Primetime Players in the finals. It is the second league finals appearance for both teams.
