Cristian Miguel Bracco Announces Retirement

OMAHA - Cristian Miguel Bracco (2236083) has announced that he will retire at the end of this season.

"I want to finish my career in Omaha," said Bracco. "I don't want to be sold to some team halfway around the world. And I don't want to be sold for $1,000. That's just insulting."

Racers owner Jerry Midwest confirmed these comments, saying "we have discussed things with Miguel, and while he is no longer a starter, we value his contributions to our franchise, and want to send him out on a good note. If he wants to finish his career here, that's fine with us."

Bracco joined the Racers three seasons ago, on a $15 000 transfer from Argentinian side Defensores de Belgrano (59929). He averaged a pedestrian 13 points per game during the season, but exploded in the playoffs, scoring 93 points in the first three games (all upset wins) to lead the Racers to a Division V championship.

In the Racers' first two seasons in Division IV, Bracco averaged 19.5 points per game. In his ten-year career, he finished in the league's top ten in scoring five times; four times with Defensores (seasons 4-7) and once with the Racers (season 11).

The Racers are seeking a friendly match against Bracco's old team.
