Racers win first Division IV game, 102-92; Barratt transferred

THE OCTAGON - Engin Pala scored two key baskets, and assisted on a third, as the Omaha Racers held off Yours Truly 102-92 for their first Division IV win.

With momentum shifting to the home team, and new star Almir Zelezinger on the bench with five fouls, Pala silenced the crowd with a cool three-pointer from the corner.

The teams traded baskets, and then Pala assisted Bob Booth on a jumper from the elbow, giving the Racers a six-point lead with one minute to play. Yours Truly was forced to foul; the Racers made their stretch free throws to take the win.

In other Racers news, reserve guard Brian Barratt has been sold to Olympiakos B.C. for $5,000.

The 35-year-old Barratt spent six seasons in the Paraguayan elite league, and played a key role in Omaha's Division V league championship last season.

After buying Barratt for $5,000. Olympiakos immediately transfer-listed Barratt for $150,000. "A 3,000% markup? What do they think Barratt is, Florida real estate?" said Racers owner Jerry Midwest.
