DG'ers grind out a victory, Southsound next

Riding a 3 game losing streak, filled with losing 3rd and 4th quarter leads, the DG'ers were feeling the pains of deciding the team direction.

The quarterfinal was no exception. The DG'ers bullied the Ginger Balls up and down the court with a stiffling defense The result sent 2 of the Ginger Balls starters out of the game with undisclosed injuries and a commanding 13 point halftime lead, and 9 point lead late in the 3rd quarter. True to form, the Ginger Balls bounced the DG'ers in a 22-8 run to go up 9 with 3 minutes to go. The DG'ers called a timeout and then something amazing happened.

The coach who had been babling about how they needed a cohesive bond, went crazy. He told them some fanactics kidnapped him and the team bus, drove the bus off a cliff, and gave the coach a tar and feather bath. He told the team that those same fans were in the 2nd row. Jed Parker whose 0-9 3rd quarter free throw performance made him a huge target for goathood, smacked Lil Oneal and Marco Tilli in the head and yelled "it's the playoffs, I don't want to walk home again!" "My mom yells at me when I get home after midnight."

The result was magical. The DG'ers reverted back to form and played some their best ball of their young careers. "I take my hat of to the best team in the league and their MVP Tom Ferrara." The GM said. "They showed the heart of a champion as evidenced by the 3pointer hit at the buzzer."
