I have been wondering about the 3-2 and 2-3 defense systems and I wasn't able to find any forum topics about this exactly. How does the GE deal with the 3-2 and 2-3 defenses. In a 3-2 system for example, (1) does the GE recognize the best 3 outside defenders and best 2 inside defenders, regardless of the mixture of starters and backups, and lets them play in this system to have the highest amount of "defense stat" on the court in defense. Or (2) does the GE always pick the PG, SG and SF for the outside positions as well as PF and C for the inside positions in defense?
And I imagine for the 2-3 system everything would function the same, but either reversed or SF being the extra inside defender.
I am aware that you can choose any player to play in a specific defense position if you would like, but this would only make sense, when the option (2) would work for the GE, am I right?
This would be helpful information when training out-of-position or in general have players on the court who have unorthodox defense skills.
