Folks,

I`d like to hear your opinions and analysis regarding our today`s NT game.
(30692)

There has been a lot of conversation around the weird game engine since the last season and I heard from many managers that there are a lot of results that does not make sense and hard or even mission impossible to find a correct analysis or answer.

Our today`s game is something similar again.
We knew very well our opponent`s team and players and had the right match ups, however the result does not reflect that at all.

Just to give you more information for the statistics and analysis here are some details from both team at SG and SF positions, so that you can read them together with the game stats.

- this is their starting SF:
19-14
18-18
19-15
13-12
8-6
3-3

Substitution SF:
14-9
14-13
17-13
16-15
15-8
2-5
7

SGs:
19-15
19-18
19-14
11-10
4-6
2-7
6

and the other SG:
17-13
18-17
16-12
7-9
6-2
4-6
4

Our outside players are those who were playing at SG and SF have OD 18-19 and 20 with not lower than 18 handling and driving like this:
18-15
18-18
18-15
13-14
5-3
4

- How is it possible to outscore our team from outside like this?
- How is it possible to the Czech team had bigger OD game result with those players?
- How can they have outside score 3 levels better than our defense knowing that our OD were 20-19 and 18 against their offense?
- Our game shape was 10 and has put more effort on it.

In alll the other positions our players are equal or even better.
We were expecting a win or a very close game but not a -23 loss.

All in all your analysis, opinions are more than welcome on this.
Thanks,
Sz.

Also how do you know the other teams player stats? isn't there rules against that sort of thing, especially if you are then going to post them on an open forum?

Fair enough- doesn't affect me as i'm not involved in the National Team but just seems a little underhand to publish opposition NT players stats for other managers to see.

Guys,
I would appreciate your analysis on this focusing on the result and information what we have.
We have a theory or at least a few ideas but i did not want to influence people i want to see how others interpret this result.

I saw one thing so far which was the wrong prediction. With regards this i do not think that it has this major impact. Not 23 points. The game was on a neutral arena and we have put more efforts. Yes it can have an impact but i have never seen this so major between two equal teams. Wrong prediction 《》full effort should somewhere balance out each other.

Cheers
Sz.

Thank you for your insights.

I (we) would like to understand how this works currently in overall. As mentioned earlier there has been lot of discussion around this game engine topic. Some part of the game and engine are well known while others have changed in the background. Yes we suspect that there were changes without news or advertisement.
Based on our experience there were too many games with weird results which has not happened earlier.

Veteran BB managers are complaining things but they can not explain it.
The def/off strategies did not change (or the developers modified something?)
Prediction is something new yes, and your explanation is pretty much hits the nail on the head. I think most of the managers knows this, however no one can confirm its impact with 100% confidence which is still ok, we can experiment.

I still believe that its impact on the defensive end should not be -23 points.

I`m sure this is general topic and of course within our community we have our own as well.
What I want to achieve is to get more insight from others. We have a relatively small community and I thought that we can get more details from more people.

In a nutshell, yes we would like understand why this game went down and for this I`m waiting more and more analysis, insights, experiences, opinions.

Hope it clarifies where I`m coming from.
Sz.

I'd like to add that being off 2 steps in your prediction makes the penalty worse (outside while they play inside is worse than predicting balanced).

Also your SG fouled out in 29 minutes, this could have screwed up rotation as your guards don't add up to 96 minutes, meaning another player played SG. Your PP100 at SG is a lot worse too. Do your backup guards have 18+ OD too? In any case, their OD is high too so your wrong prediction combined with your starting SG fouling out might explain the difference in OD rating, or maybe there's a difference in PG defense too.

Also, add to that there is a random factor that can tip games the other way so maybe you were just unlucky too.
