Excerpts from Interview with Dan Patrick:
DP: "Coach Wem, how do you feel about your team so far this season?"
CW: "Honestly Dan, I feel pretty good. We were a little let down with our defeat to Parma earlier in the season, but other than that game, I think we have played to our potential thus far".
DP: "Any surprise that you played the Provisionals as tough as you did and pulled out the victory?"
CW: "Yes, we were surprised". "I was very proud of the way our team responded to that game, but, lets face it.. that was early in the season and as far as, well, uh.. um.. a pivotal victory for us.. well, I just think it was early and we might have pulled a little shocker on them." "They are such a great team, with a great coach, so you have to give them credit for all they have done." "They have also picked up such a strong big man, that I feel, well, uh, they could be a team to beat in the playoffs."
DP: " How do you feel about your playoff chances?"
CW: "Playoffs?" "C'mon, Dan, we are taking one game at a time". "Right now, I need my team focused on one game, and we will see what happens."
DP: "Coach, in your opinion, who is the team to beat?"
CW: "Thats a tough one, Dan." "How can you not respect Bay Harbor?" "That game they pulled out vs. UCONN was amazing." "They are well coached, and probably bring the most balance between an inside and out game for any team in the league." "UCONN is just very strong and experienced." "Goss is the best all around player this league has ever seen." "Goss will be the MVP, in my opinion". "Cranky, well, uh, um.. honestly I just havent studied that team very much but obviously they are in a top spot and didnt fall into it by accident." "Provisionals cant be overlooked." "Any more questions, Dan?"
DP: "Yea, only one.... who do you like in the Derby today?"
CW: (laughs) "Well Dan, thats an easy one... "Make Music for Me"... "thats my horse." "Did I mention that Raffie has an equity position in that stable?" "Raffie love horses..." "Its sorta strange actually." "Thanks for asking, Dan". "Have a great day".
DP: "Thanks Coach Wem." "Good luck tonight against Blaise".
