Press Announcements

Siphiwe "Sugarman" Mamoepa

The man, the myth, the legend!

In the five seasons of the Lambini regime there has been some fine players cross the court for the baby boks. But none is matching the power of the chosen one! Being trained in the former Soviet Republic to be a sharpshooter of deadly aim and steadily become a hound dog of a defender his combination of skills is keeping the flame of continental gold alight. Last season saw a taste of what he was capable of, this season it has come full flower. And it is in many cases too much for the competition to overcome!

After a somewhat shaky start shooting the ball, which still saw prodigious numbers posted he has really caught fire. Over the past five games he is scoring a average of 47.8 a contest shooting 52% from the field and 53% from beyond the arc and 74% from the line.

As the first group phase for this seasons continental competition has completed he is currently sitting at 631 points lifetime only 121 from Fabian Poll's mark set two seasons ago. he is at 321 for the season which is only 156 behind the mark of 475 set by Zikomo Mazibuko in s42. In fact the double nickel he dropped against Egypt by itself had him leapfrog from 10th on the season scoring list to 3rd! In fact IF we can make it to the final he could possibly flirt with 1000 for his career! Also he now holds the 4th,5th, 8th and 10th highest scoring single game efforts as well, and nobody in the history of the program has more 50 point games.

No matter what happens the remainder of this campaign this is going to be a season and a career long remembered in bok lore. Players like this in micronations like this do not come along very often, enjoy this while you can, I know I will!
