Hinting all season that help was on the way, in the form of a big man the team would acquire; the team made good on its promise basically stealing big man Vega in the early hours Tuesday morning. Arizona has been seeking someone to come in and help them on the boards, and in Vega, they may have more than just a rebounder! This puts Arizona's front court right up there with anyone in the league teamming with PF Zekic.

EA: Hi Carlos, welcome to Phoenix!!
Vega: Thanks Erin, glad to be here!
EA: How did you like your time in France?
Vega: Totally sucked! What a joke. I think they brought me in as some sort of publicity stunt. I mean, that team sucked, that league sucks, that country sucks, I just hate it! One things more than anything else sums up about bad it was there.....
EA: What was that?
Vega: Our rival was the "Mad Whores"....I think that says it all...just pathetic!
EA: No kidding! So, you used to play for Lake Merritt in the NBBA....How did you like playing in the NBBA?
Vega: Ohhhh man, loved it! I have missed that team, and missed being in the states.
EA: Must have been tough leaving as a 3 time champ, being shipped off to some low level league...what happened? Why do you think Lake Merrit sent you packing after such a successful run with the team?
Vega: I am not sure. The whole thing was kind of weird. Honestly, I think Coach Coco was in a bad mood when we missed the playoffs and took it out on me.
EA: Took it out you? Why were you singled out?
Vega: Well, we were 3 time defending champs like you said. We had a slow start to the season, but we finished strong, still missed the playoffs though. In my last game, I had a bunch of points on like 11/15 shooting, led the team in rebounding...so I felt like I still busting my butt to my part....
EA: So why get rid of you?
Vega: Well, Coach Coco came into the locker room after the game, and was not happy. He said he would be having a team dinner the following week to close out the season, and look ahead to the following season. He made it clear, that we would be on a mission to return to championship form. Well, he asked if anyone had any suggestions for what kind of food to have for our team dinner....I was trying to be funny and blurted out "I am Coo-Coo for Coach Coco Puffs!!" He got even angrier!! Kicked me out of the locker room! I couldn't believe it!
EA: You think he got rid of you just because of that?
Vega: Well that certainly set him off...I was gone before the team even met for the team dinner. I think Coco has a problem with Americans to be honest with you. That dude is from Italy....and to most of the foreigners on the team, they think of him like a real American. But he seems to be sensitive and overly competitive against the "real" Americans...so he's hard on us. I don't know....dude needs to get over it!
