Here is a preview of the playoff games in the EBBL and division 2 tonight.

EBBL
ournemouth Drunkers defeated Arsenal 98 in the last game of the season to win the top seed in the EBBL with a 19-3 record and will have home court advantage throughout the playoffs. They will face this seasons cup winner Tide of Fire. The season series was tied 1-1 between the teams but neither team was at their best in their respective losses. This should be an interesting game.

The other big 8 playoff tie sees last season’s EBBL champions Arsenal 98 face off against season 53 winners Optic Fibres. The regular season games saw the home teams win, can Bergkamp win back to back titles?

Over in the great 8, 1st seed Hope Springs saw star player Adrian Honarmand go down injured in their last game which may harm there chances to win the title. They will still be looking to maintain their run of reaching the EBBL final after getting there each of the last 3 seasons. Their campaign starts against Bromley-By-Bow who they beat in both games this season.

The other great 8 tie sees a rematch of last season’s 2v3 matchup but with the seeding swapped as London Whales host Team Nook. Their last game went to double overtime which saw Nook come out on top by 2 points. Hopefully we’ll see another close game this time.

The first relegation series sees 5th seed Gauson face off against BC Zalgiris, who have added some players for the fight. Gauson did pick up the win in their regular season game but Vycka will be hoping his new players can save him.

The other 5v7 relegation battle has Leeds City Ballers face of against Galaxy Walkers. Leeds missed out on the playoffs on points difference while Galaxy needed a win on the final day to survive. Leeds will feel confident after winning their previous game between the two by 26 points.

The final relegation series sees Camden Kings face off against St Purple&Greens. Camden have sold off most of their key players so St Purple&Greens will feel confident in their survival.

Division II.1
Los Miktos will be pushing for a return to the EBBL after finishing the season with a league best 20-2 record. They will face Tommicat Cats I’m the first playoff round. Los Mikitos won both games between the sides this season and hope to make it 3 out of 3.

The other big 8 game sees last seasons EBBL team kotwa face off against Allll Stars. The season series between the teams was tied at 1-1 with Allll Stars winning the most recent game by 29 points. Can we see a shock on the cards?

Long time Div II.1 team Detroit Pistons I topped the great 8 with a 19-3 record and face Toral Castro in the 1v4 matchup. Toral will be without starting guard Kursa who misses out through injury. Detroit will be hoping to finally reach the EBBL after 27 seasons in this league.

The final Div II.1 playoff tie sees Follow me face off against Hurstead Hustlers. Both regular seasons games went the way of Follow me, but both games were close. Hopefully we see a close game between the two teams.

Division II.2
The Bethnal Green Erks earned the best record in division II.2, going 20-2. The fave off against one of the teams that beat them in Gophers.

The other great 8 tie sees Porzigod at home to last seasons cup finalists Lancaster City. Both games in the regular season went to the home team, and Porzigod will be hoping the same happens again.

In the big 8, a 17-5 record was enough to put T20 Cricketers as the top seed in the conference. They face off against Lisaball who had a 13-9 record. Lisaball won the most recent matchup between the teams by 14 and will be looking for a shock first round win.

The final playoff game has last seasons EBBL team Cambois Donkeys face off against Borac Basket. The Donkeys will be looking to NT star Bart Leavy-McCarthy to lead them to promotion back to the EBBL.

Division II.3
MexicanTaxiDriver went unbeaten throughout the season to guarantee their place back in the EBBL next season for having the best record in division 2. They will start the playoff campaign against the team they beat by 20 points on the final day of the season, Alaus Putytes.

The other great 8 matchup sees the 17-5 Kauno Zalgiris 7 BC face off against the 16-6 MILF Hunters. The 3 seed Hunters did win both games in the regular season and will be looking to pull off a third victory to progress through to the conference finals.

I’m the big 8, the 20-2 BC Snaiperiai go up against the 11-11 Bc Emigrantas, the team they also beat on the final day of the season.

The other big 8 matchup has the cup semi finalist PONTIOPOYLA go up against Free Agent. PONTIOPOYLA beat Free Agent by 15 in their last game and will be looking for another comfortable win.

Division II.4
The CWA Fury led the way in division II.4 with a 21-1 record, their sole loss coming to the hands of 6 seed in the big 8 Club Deportivo. They will begin their fight for promotion against EmigrantaiTM. Fury will be hoping to make a successful push for the EBBL.

The other great 8 tie sees 2nd seed Pleven North End face off against OLYMPIACOS 1925 who they beat 119-55 in the last game of the season. However, Pleven have sold 4 players since that game so this game could go either way.

The top seed in the big 8, Bc Newmarketas face off against Trefas team, a team they have beat twice this season by a combined 34 points. They will be hoping for another double digit win to progress to the conference finals.

The other big 8 tie should be more interesting as the joint oldest franchise in England BB, Whetstone Wizards host Mortal Wombats. The Wombats started the season 0-6 and have since had a 14-2 record, including a 1 point win over the Wizards in their most recent matchup. This is a game to keep an eye out for.

I hate relegation playoffs. So much worse than the promotion games. Having relegated in Utopia, I don't want the same to happen here. But equally I don't much care for sending another team down, necessary as it is.

Good luck to all those with meaningful games left.

The first round of the playoffs are done and dusted. Some convincing wins and some shock losses throughout. Here is a round up of the first round.

EBBL
Bournemouth Drunkers defeated Tide of Fire 80-68 to progress through to the conference finals in their first season back in the EBBL. C Eddy Schwerdtfeger had a monster double double with 19 points and 23 rebounds. It’s not all good news for the Drunkers though as PF Amaranto Marquez left the game with an injury and looks likely to miss the next game.

They will face Arsenal 98 after they were able to get past Optic Fibres 75-63 in a low scoring affair. Fibres stars Needham and Salomone struggled to score combining to shoot 7-38.

Despite missing star player Adrian Honarmand, Hope Springs were able to beat Bromley-By-Bow 99-73 with all 5 starters scoring in double figures. Hope Springs are on course to continue their run of 3 straight finals appearances.

They will have to get past London Whales to make it four in a row as the Whales made an incredible 4th quarter comeback to beat Team Nook 80-79. It was SG Jason Ewing that hit a 3 pointer to complete the comeback with 20 seconds to go, after being down 13 points at the start of the quarter. Nook’s backup forward Bram Voshol missed a potential game winner at the buzzer.

Leeds City Ballers held Galaxy Walkers to 28% shooting as they breezed to a game 1 win on their relegation series. Daryl Tracey and Magdaleno Banuelos combined for 43 points in the victory.

34 points on 14-22 shooting from SF Ioannis Nikoloyiannis led St Purple & Greens to a 107-68 victory over Camden Kings. Camden’s survival hangs in the balance and they will need a much better performance in game 2.

The most interesting relegation series is between Gauson and BC Zalgiris, and that was proven in game 1. A game that was close and high scoring throughout, Gauson were able to save home court advantage winning 125-112 after a 37-27 point final quarter. This series could still go either way.

Division II.1
The division II.1 big 8 was the place for upsets as both the 1st and 2nd seed teams lost. Top seed Los Mikitos were defeated by Tommicat Cats 98-95. It was PF Jim Bolin who hit a game winning 3 pointer to cause the upset.

Allll Stars we’re comfortable in their win as they won 115-93 despite star SF Fu Eng Hock leaving the game early through injury. It was backup SF Luigi Arno who top scored with 20 points.

Allll Stars will host Tommicat Cats in the conference finals. The three seed won the last matchup by 50 points so will have confidence going in to the game.

6 Detroit Pistons I players scored in double digits as they beat Toral Castro 114-96 to advance to the conference finals.

They will face 2nd seed Follow_me as they were able to comfortably beat Hurstead Hustlers 118-103 behind a combined 51 points from their guard duo.

Division II.2
Bethnal Green Erks were able to overcome a 38 point game from Gophers PG Dante McShane to win 107-90 and advance to the conference finals. They were led by SG Leon Cruickshank with 24 points.

Lancaster City dominated 2nd seed Porzigod 88-54 to reach the conference finals. Lancaster’s perimeter trio of Dai Kunzheng, Svyatoslav Senichev and Xim Say Hao combined for 69 of their 88 points.

Lancaster City upset Bethnal Green Erks in the playoffs last season, could we see another upset on the cards?

The T20 Crickters had 23 assists on 36 made baskets as they beat Lisaball 94-77 to move on to the conference finals. SG Tomasz Borko had a efficient 34 points shooting 13-21 FG(4-6 3FG).

They will face off against Borac Basket in the conference finals as they beat Cambois Donkeys 111-87. SF Ronnie Halley had a massive 37 points on 16-27 shooting. But his performance was overshadowed by NT star Bart McCarthy-Leavy who went off for 62 points and 14 rebounds in a losing effort.

Division II.3
Div II.3
MexicanTaxiDriver comfortably overcame Alaus Putytes 99-72 to maintain their unbeaten season and advance to the conference finals. PF Joni Polso top scored with 27 points.

Kauno Zalgiris 7 BC also advance to the conference finals as they defeated MILF Hunters 105-84 behind 27 points for SF Victor Las Heras Perez.

Kauno Zalgiris will be looking to end MexicanTaxiDriver’s uneaten season.

BC Snaiperiai used a 38-10 third quarter to blowout the 4th seeded Bc Emigrantas 100-65.

Cup semi finalist PONTIOPOYLA also cruised to a round one win, beating Free Agent 113-91 as 7 players scored double figures.

PONTIOPOYLA failed to beat BC Snaiperiai in the league, but their single game record has been good this season and will look to reach the finals.

Division II.4
SF Ian Quigley shot 8-11FG (4-4 3FG) as CWA Fury outplayed EmigrantaiTM to progress to the conference finals.

Pleven North End’s fire sale looks to have been costly as they were knocked out of the playoffs 111-106 by OLYMPIACOS 1925. Perimeter play was dominant as OLYMPIACOS’a trio combined for 80 points while Pleven’s trio scored a total 93 points.

CWA Fury’s EBBL quest continues against OLYMPIACOS 1925 in the conference finals.

In the big 8, top seed BC Newmarketas beat Trefas team 111-94 behind 31 points for SF Todd Jefferson who scored at will.

The most interesting playoff game saw 2nd seed Whetstone Wizards battle Mortal Wombats with the home team coming out on top in overtime 114-106. PF Gabi Tricart somehow managed to pass to himself as he hit a game tying 3 pointer with 10 seconds left before blocking the final Wombats attempt to send the game to overtime. 4 Wizard’s players contributed double double performances as they dominated the boards 67-38, which is probably the reason they were able to come out on top.

Both regular season games between Newmarketas and Wizards went to the home side, we’ll see if the Newmarketas can use home court advantage to win again.

Maybe it was a pass off the backboard all the way to the behind the arc to himself and then he hit the 3, followed up by getting a clutch block. Sounds like an amazing play!

I was just checking to see if they was a last second shot and saw it and I was confused as to how a player managed to assist themself for a 3!
