G’day team,
Our season 56 campaign kicks off at 5:30 EDST tomorrow morning against a strong and revamped Serbian team.
We find ourselves in repechage again and realistically tomorrow morning’s game is the big one. If we can somehow win this one without using too much energy the remaining two games open up nicely for us. Not to say that they will be easy, but we’ll have put ourselves in the best possible position to earn a spot in the World Cup for the first time in a long time.
Finally, ahead of this new season I wanted to say a big thanks to the Aussie community. Our depth is getting better all of time and we seem to be growing in engaged and active local managers, which is making our domestic comp more challenging and hopefully more fun.
Keep chatting in the forums, keep the banter up and let’s keep enjoying this cool game.
I hope our boys, led by new team captain Du Hongjing in the wake of veteran Homer Dawes retirement from the international stage, can put on a show for you guys and if anyone happens to be up at that time (parents of little kids, this is right in your time slot, it’s time to shine!) I hope you can tune in and watch our boys push for a spot at the World Cup with the big boys.
Let’s get some wins!
Deano
