It is not mandatory as a benchmark, but it definitely means something if you can take your club team to the NBBA, you must know a thing or two to get there. The fact that you made it to DII 4 times but got relegated right after promotion 3 out of those 4 times speak for itself.

I'm a little late to the thread, but I agree 100% and it was my main reason for voting Antwon.

Personally I think the LionPride team history bouncing between D3 and D4 for the majority of 45 seasons is a weakness for NT elections. I like your commitment to the game, and your passion for U21 speaks for itself. But at some point you need to be able to show you can sustain winning at a higher level, or you're going to keep losing elections to D2 and NBBA guys. They have more experience running teams against the best managers in the game.

For what it is worth, I have never made it to D.II and won four golds straight for U21. Being in lower divisions does not always correlate to being a bad U21 coach. Being in NBBA or D.II does not always correlate to being a good U21 coach.

The thing that is not thought about much when it comes to elections is that the U21 NT job is almost strictly just coaching. You don’t have to worry about salaries or weekly economics. You have no ability to control the minutes of the players or the positions in which they are trained. While you can urge managers to do certain things and suggest things, it is ultimately not even a manager role. I’ve never viewed myself as a great BB manager, but I do believe I understand tactics and game planning extremely well and am an elite coach. The managing of a team and the coaching for games don’t always go hand in hand is what I’m saying, I suppose.

This is a great point, you can certainly be a phenomenal coach and never make it out of D3 because you lacked arena management, training plans, roster building, market pricing/timing, and a whole load of other things.

I think the only real counterargument I'd have here would be that for a team playing at the top leagues, tactics mean a lot more than they do in D2 and below. You can steamroll through D2 off almost team strength alone if you have the right team. Using amazing financial management and training to overcome your inability to coach is a possibility in those divisions.

Then you get to a point where you have to be good at everything once you get to the very top. So in terms of proven coaching ability in my eyes that's why I take league success somewhat into account.

2x NBBA Champion: S55, S56. 3x USA Cup Champion: S54, S55, S56. WR for longest home streak ever at 11 in Season 47.

I agree taken into account as a tiebreaker, but not a driving force to vote or not vote for someone. Love you mom. 😘
