(45465)Canadian 120 Chile 110From first glance it looked like Canada was packing a lineup of old greeter guys from Walmart. AaronMadiar(35 years old), Logan King(33), Burimenko(35) and Don Aaron(33) are far from spring chickens but they sure taught Chile a thing or two. Some early season conditioning issues have held some of those guys down, but now that they old clidesdales have been let out of the barn, it's full steam ahead !!
The starting lineup played very well, but especially in the first half, whenever Canada seemed to get down, the bench came in and brought the enthusiasm like another bench lineup from the North (Raptors)!!! Pavliuk and Aaron provided the scoring punch off the bench. The combined for 24 points and 5-7 shooting from downtown in this one. Considering each of them only played 14 minutes, that is time well spent.
Overall a great effort. Last game the rebounding let us down, this game with a different lineup, we beat them in rebounds 45-36 and even snagged 10 offensive rebounds. Alec Cockayne was clearly the difference. Last game he didn't play as much and his rebounding was sorely missed. He was a mad dog on the boards with 13!!
The 20 assists weren't phenomenal but with only 5 turnovers, it's a nice ratio. The three point shooting started off slowly but picked up when it was needed the most. We only committed 7 fouls. That's amazing. That can be attributed partially to fantastic game shape and conditioning.
Top 3 Stars:1)Aaron "Old Man" Madiar(
Ottawa Storm)... huge huge shots... to the tune of 28 points and 10 rebounds (3 points)
2)Stephen Hall(
Burns' Boy) - 19 points and 11 rebounds and 3 assists.. but he did not commit one single foul!! (2 points)
3)Teodoro Almada (
Damian's Dude) - - 19 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.. (1 point)
Keep up the great training and game shape.. Jamaica is up next!!! Let's keep rising through the ashes!! A Canadian storm is a brewing.. who we gonna hit next?
