Ya I hear ya, Gunner.
My team is full of stinkers too. Lol I don't have a player over a 3k salary. Rofl
So..... My connection is quite slow right now so no invitations just yet.... Hopefully later tonight or tomorrow... I'd like to confirm everyone has got there team etc. In the meantime I'd like to update the status of our 12th team and how the playoffs will be run.
Firstly, our 12th team is owned by the "Legendary" (lol) RiP. He has been gracious enough to expand our league to 12 teams. As many of you know he basically went inactive in Canada 2 seasons ago. At the same time he has a 2nd team. RiP has determined that he won't be buying any players but only training the players he was given. I won't hold him to that if chooses another route but the question is if that's alright to our majority of owners? When we first spoke I didn't know what his activity level would be, I like that his players would improve during the season and he might be able to squeak out some wins not just at the beginning of the season but perhaps later as well. I'm just putting it out there to our UCPL members.
Secondly, after much reflection (which I probably should spent on Game 3 of the Naismith Finals), I believe an 8 playoff team format is the way to go. Us as managers are going to use all sorts of different methods to try to improve our team. Be it purchasing players, increasing our stadium, staff etc. An 8 team playoff format would let 2/3 of the teams in the playoffs but with so much going on for our particular teams I think it might be best. My main reasoning behind this how will playoffs work? We are playing on a neutral site for every game of the regular season. That's happening. But how would the playoffs work? Will Homecourt come up in the playoffs? And if the answer is Yes. I fully support an 8 team playoff format to keep everyone involved and to have playoff seeding still give the advantage to the top 4 teams. I need an answer from someone who has played in a strictly neutral site reagular season type of League.
So that's it, gonna be checking back here every so often, let me know you thoughts and we'll get this started up! Bringing RiP somewhat out of retirement is an extra +1
