Tuesday - 6/18/2013 Recap
Big 8Philosopher Kings 104 - 92 Blenkinsop
(59280329)RiPs team took to the road after a season opening home win and they continued their winning ways as they did away with Blenkinsop, the reason for this win though can be blamed on FTs though as the Philosopher Kings had 16 more FTM than Blenkinsop and won by 12. This is why we tell you kids to practice your FTs! Blenkinsop was up 1 at half, but in the 2nd half the Kings took over and even after a WHU foulout, they managed to pull out the tough road win. WHU finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Kings. Raz Grundman did all he could for Blenkinsop, but his 28 points was not enough to overcome the massive FT defecit.
Ottawa Lightning 89 - 110 Saskatoon Storm
(59280330)After being dismantled on the road, the Saskatoon Storm looked to defend their homecourt and did they ever. The team put everything they had onto the court en route to a commanding 21 point win over the Ottawa Lightning. Strong 2nd and 4th quarters was all that was necessary as the Storm stormed their way to .500 this season. Liang Guangjing led the team with 37 points as he played every second of the game. He also dished out 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Ottawa Lightning were caught surprised and although he grabbed 10 rebounds and dropped 21 points, Ian Ketkar couldn't will the Lightning through the storm.
The Hounds 122 - 23 Genso Suikoden II
(59280331)\
It seems that Genso bashing will become a gameday tradition as the Hounds were the lucky recipients of this scrimmage type game, crushing zero territory's squad by 99 points even with most players out of position. With assists on 49 of the 58 made field goals, The Hounds truly put on quite the clinic for the dissappointed Genso fans. Alikas Pranckaitis had a triple double with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists as he had as many assists as Genso Suikoden II had made field goals. Marc Hederman tried all he could for Genso Suikoden II, but 11 points and 14 rebounds was not enough.
Quebec Pugs 92 - 110 Lawrence Park Panthers
(59280328)Mr. Burns and his squad left Utopia to head home and were ever so happy about that as they were able to beat newly promoted Quebec Pugs rather handily, with no real worries. Both teams had some odd tactics as the Panthers were popping jumpshots from anywhere and the Pugs had players out of position, including former U21 star Matthew Ferguson who led the team with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists despite playing C, a position much different from the guard position he has become accustommed too. Canada NT star Herman Kearns led the Panthers with 26 points and 7 assists to get the Panthers back onto the right foot.
Great 8Luxury Tax 76 - 107 蝴蝶Supreme
(59280332)Kumikos squad was in tiptop shape as they dominated this one from start to finish concluding in a 31 point win over newly promoted Luxury Tax. 蝴蝶Supreme dominated at every aspect of the game and at every position as they gave their fans a treat and gave Kumikos hair a break. Most of the heavy lifting was done by Cory Shirley who dropped 35 points on 16-21 shooting while also grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. Luxury Tax was led by big man Gerard Jovellar who had 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Headless Thompson Gunners 107 - 45 Beanz Odyssey
(59280333)After starting off with a difficult win at home, the Gunners got a much easier matchup against former power house Beanz Odyssey and easily dispatched them with a 62 point win on the road. Not too much to note here as the Gunners dominated at every position and every aspect of the game and won this game without any complaints or controversy. The team was led by Roberto Merlonghi who had 25 points and 19 rebounds, 10 of those offensive! U21 SF Spadaro led the Odyssey with 23 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
