what doctor did you have? Would you say the same if you invested in a lvl 7 doctor and you had an injury to your trainee, who incidentally is also your best and most expensive player and you were slapped with a 5 week injury which may well mean he will miss half a season and more importantly the playoffs?

People quit games for things like this.

I see your point, but that was the advantage of my gameplay. I had low cost, low risk, low frustration level training program haha :) Reward was eventually lower, but I'm happy overall.

couldn't agree more. injuries add only disgust to this game. unless, well, it's your rival who spends 150k a week to get a great player and sees his 150k player get injured for 4-5 weeks, have to spend 600-750k for nothing and have his season ruined. not to mention that when the player recovers his form is so low that he needs 2-3 weeks to get back into shape. ha ha ha. so fun. you laugh now but you're next. injuries happen in real life but how fun are they? the warriors would probably have won last season anyway but it would have been much more fun if the cavs had kyrie, love, varejão available. why have a feature that only reduces the fun just for the sake of realism. anyway, there are many things in this game that are not realistic at all, like training. buzzerbeater is already complex and challenging enough, there is no need for features that only undermine the motivation of managers.

ok, you can minimise injuries by hiring a lvl5+ doctor. i always have a lvl 5 and my injuries have been usually mild and not very frequent, but they still happen and suck. i'd prefer something like a player gets into risk of injury if their form is low. a player with 8-9 form shouldn't get injured. 7 almost never. 4 and he will probably get injured. something like that.

Injuries can aggrevate and sometimes the best doctor in the world won't make a difference.

Plus, the game was designed by super smart people and I'd rather trust them. If they don't see the necessity to change it, it's the right decision most probably.

This is literally the only online sports sim I've ever played that told me a player would be injured for 1 week and he ended up missing like 2 or 3.

Why is that do you think?

Are none of the other games made by smart people? Maybe there's a reason other sims actually give ranges for players to return and players stay within those ranges.

You need a certain level of user-friendliness involved in a game. I understand that the makers of this game don't want to tell you the exact length. If the injury is 20 days, they don't want to display it as 20 days. That's fair. But why can't you then display it as 15-30 days and retain the mystery? Now you won't hit the point when they're supposed to be healed from what you can tell and still see them injured for several more days. You can plan for it to take as much as 30 but be hopeful that it only takes 15. Would make the injury system so much more favorable.

Instead of people constantly complaining about guys lasting longer than it shows, people might actually be relieved to see players come back earlier than the max length.

Perspective does so much.

Injuries are a cruel twist to the game,, but they must stay, adds a extra dimension.

What I would like to see in terms of injuries is a official diagnosis with a range say 0-1 week, 1-2 weeks , 2-3. 3-4. 4-6 that way it becomes even more difficult and all your heads will explode.

In terms of diagnosis lets have some fun with it, in that a guy who gets his spine severed will be coming back quicker than the guy with a hangnail.

i see. i agree.

but, well, if the man with torn meniscus goes bowling or for a quick alpinism tour, i would like to know.

billing for health recovery would be... intriguing. i will definitively buy orthokine for my aging shooting guard. :)

Phoenix medical staff might do wonders too, but for the sake of simplicity the current system is the best we can get.
