Haha serve me right ain't it few season ago, not known what BB is made of that moment, and not expose enough to the true and fair game environment.

Now I got my trainee Firdaus and hes looking good ^^, together with Ghani, Faris, and Zakaria is progressing nicely :)

Okay I also made way too many mistakes starting out haha.

Some of them are listed below:
1. I bought more than 6 trainees under 21 because I didn't realise you could only train 6 players on 2 position training.
2. I thought that the suggested position was used for training. So I bought lots of PGs and tried to train pressure for PG only and didn't realise that the players had to play minutes.
3. I didn't pay attention to height on my trainees so I was training guards and centers at the same time and randomly training different things.
4. I didn't realise training took place on friday so changed the training after every game.
5. Didn't realise CT halved enthusiasm.

Any many others hahaha

I thought having a thread like this would help me as well as the many other new players. To the BB veterans, what is the one thing you wish you had known when you first started that you ended up finding out (possibly the hard way) as you played the game more and more?

That the BBs were going to add potentials to players after I was already addicted.

There are not many things I wish I knew, since I read the manual about 10 times when I started playing and also kept reading the forum. :p

but still..
- I wish I didn't switch training between guards and inside players each week (in my first season).
- I wish I had raised my arena prices earlier and not lose extra income

I wish I knew that there's no height advantage in games. So a 6'6 guard won't have any advantage over a 5'11 guard in their match up. That's the most unrealistic thing at BB by far!

So is Kevin Durant a bad SG?
Was Magic Johnson a bad PG?
Was Ben Wallace a bad C?

I think there are exceptions to the normal heights, although obviously a 5'11" C is silly.

I wish I knew how to train properly.
I wish I knew what skill I was training.
I wish I knew investing arena first is better in the long run, than buying random players who ended up getting fired after a week.
I wish I knew that buying young and high potential player was useless unless I was going to train him.

true about Nate Robinson - although in terms of inside D, I vaguely remember that he once blocked a dunk attempt by Yao Ming.... for athletic types, sometimes defense is about timing and desire,as their athleticism can compensate for their height. For regular and below average folks like me who cannot jump high enough, height matters more. In my mind, the blocking attribute in BB somewhat simulates this aspect.

On the topic matter, I wish I had sold all my players 3 seasons ago at the height of the bubble and sat on a pile of cash to buy players this season. I have become too attached to my players, and will suffer for it in about 2 seasons time.

Because I never was able to land an outstanding draft pick (though not for the lack of investing), I wish I had ignored training completely and instead just focused on stamina and FT.
