This is a question I should probably know the answer to, but I don't, and couldn't find the answer in the game manual or FAQ pages.

How many teams get demoted, per division, in each league? I've never been demoted, and until now have been in leagues with some bots, so it's really pretty hard to figure manually.

Not that I plan on demoting, but getting promoted into a tough DIII league it doesn't look like I can make the playoffs. Knowing the amount of teams who will demote will help me formulate a strategy for the year.

4 teams demote from each division. 2 automatically, and 2 after relegation series.

and to be more precise still:
in the relegation games
the No6 of conf 1 plays a best of 3 series with home court advantage against the No7 of conf 2
and No6 of conf 2 plays a best of 3 series with home court advantage against the No7 of conf 1
