First friendly, a loss to India. As I said two weeks ago, we are playing a series of games against them to test players and strategies. First start for Michael, Dobbie and McColgan who played decent alongside Lyle and Fitchy. They are getting more time to experience the national team in the next weeks.

Fingal Fitchy had a sore back that night from carrying us in this game! 41 points on 16/22 and 6/7 from three, incredible! We are moving up in the team ranking. Right now, we are sitting at 54 which is brings us one step closer to top 50.

It's only a few more weeks until the draft. If you'd like to get some advice on your draft order, feel free to contact me. If you do not plan to train your draftees, please sell them.

Finally, a massive thank you to managers TRUF and waterflow for letting me buy Clanachan and Elphinstone!

Season 53:

Many great players had to leave the team this offseason: Fitchy (who is now the all time leader in points!), Lyle, MacMurchie, Simpson, Seton...
This season, we have a decent starting five, but not much power coming off the bench. Our goal, therefore, is to remain in the top 55. I do not see us getting into the top 50 this season, but let's see what happens.

First game's on Monday against Russia.

Unlucky with the lot. Unfortunately, we must start the tournament with a score of 0-2.

0-2, as expected.

The draw has been kind to us as we are facing many teams that are ranked 50+. But let's not underestimate them! Next's weeks game against Malta will be difficult. We need every player to have a high GS. Also, only 4 of 14 players had a skill pop last week. We should aim for at least 4 more per week to get back into the top 55 (56 at the moment).

Goal: Win 3 of 6 games

The team played well in both matches. With Russia, two starting players were injured. Otherwise, we would also have played at -20. The starting line-up has almost never lost to Finland, which is a good level.
With this draw, you can win four matches. Let's hope for the poor form of the Maltese players

Thank you! I'm proud of the team. We were able to win despite taking it easy, which increases our chances of winning upcoming games.

Player of the game: Lamont Blair (21 Pts, 21 Reb, 2 clutch threes).

Another win, 88:53 against Saudi Arabia! MacShimes finally has a manager who cares about his development and game shape. He was the top scorer with 24 points on 8-11 FG.

Next week we are facing Peru, which will most likely end in a loss. If we win 3 out of the next 4, we could advance to the next round, but I do not see us winning against Belarus, Kazakhstan and Vietnam while playing TIE. I am happy if we win two more games and end this tournament with a record of 4-4.

Yes, a nice win - and it‘s always great when managers care about training AND gameshape. Congratulations! Yes, you‘re right. You probably won’t win 3 out of 4 - but it‘s not altogether impossible. So, surprise us. And if not, it‘s still a good season!

I think that in important matches, you should give more time to the starting players. According to the +/- statistics, it is noticeable that they are several levels higher. With good form, we have a chance

As expected, we lost to Peru. Next week we are facing Belarus, another tough opponent. It's crucial that all players have a game shape of 8 or (ideally) 9! Then it's up to me to set the right tactics for the win.

Alba gu bràth!
