How much can I read into these boxscores? I'm trying to rank guys I've only scouted once.

The box scores are not an accurate way to rank or judge prospects. You should definitely list all your players that you have scouted by height and determine which type of player (bigs or guards) you want to get out of the draft and randomly pick accordingly. The draft is a bit of a guessing game. The more you invest in it the more guesses you have , thus increase your chance for a worthy trainee to train.

You can read a lot out of the boxscore. For example, if the guy has 0 assists he probably has very bad passing.
There is a guide to read this stats, but it's in spanish: (222736.8)

I didn't think the boxscore could be different for the same player. It seems to me like too much work but I don't know how the draft players are created by the game.
Anyway, I have spent 10 points in my draft this year between two teams :P

Could someone please translate that guide into English? I would love to read it. Bummer that I don't speak Spanish.

I ran some statistics on this about 5 seasons ago?

I found strong correlation between some stats, but low correlation between other stats.

I compiled box scores from about 20 teams and compared to the draftees skills sets.

Steals and OD had strong correlation
So did Assists and passing
So did FGM and IS
and PTS and IS
TR and Rebounding

HOwever things like 3pt FGM vs JR, correlation was low.

Handling and Driving were not correlated to anything.nor was stamina, FT's

So essentially i came to the conclusion that its generally 'logical' relationships between box scores and you have about a 70% change of it being logical.
But its also relative to the rest of the draftee's. 54 points vs 30 points, IS is still probably only going to be Respectable.

I remember now what you wrote. Very good points.
Basically, you can use the stats to order your draft picks if you don't have anything better, but you can't be 100 % sure of the skills you are going to get.

It´s not the box score is unique, the players change from each draft board. For example, your #13 player is not the #13 player for other teams.
