I have 2 trainees, who could reach the following builds. Assuming, it's not possible to train them both to their respective cap, which of them would you complete and why?
PG - 16/14/17 17/17/16 10/9/4/8
SF - 15/8/16 15/15/13 14/13/10/12

The SF looks more appealing to me, also because he's not an Utopia player so he could play for his NT

In general I'd rather have an SF because they're so expensive to buy otherwise. However, I think your PG is closer to the ideal PG than the SF is close to the ideal SF, mainly because of the lack of JR. I'd still go for the SF purely on their desirability, but an argument can be made for the PG.

The SF is also more suited for outside training, therefore I could add JR at the expense of JS or inside skills, but I'm not sure I value JR more than IS on a SF: this fella (20828736) has 4 JR and it hasn't stopped him from being efficient with better flow than he was used to in previous seasons.

The alternative for the SF is like this:
13/12/16 15/15/13 13/13/10/12
He's 6'4'' and has the majority of the inside skills already, so the outside skills can be changed if needed. His JR trains significantly faster than JS at the moment. With some luck JS or IS are likely to reach 14.

Would that build change your answer?

I already went for the SF and this is even better indeed. I'd go for 14/10/14 JS/JR/IS and then see whatever you can squeeze out JR.

Well not quite :). My guy won't get there, he's too short to get such nice inside skills.

The fact that I don't have to worry about the cap in his case while I would have to be careful for the PG (MVP) also makes me think developing the SF is a smarter choice.

Ok thank you both.

A bit late, but I would also go with the SF. A few seasons back, the USA NT had a couple SFs with JR at 10 or under. They were both effective on their club teams and for the NT. Just my 2 cents.

You answered the question yourself. I am Training an Utopia C myself and its a shame to lose out on a lot of money, just because of the flag...
