Hello,
I am trying to make a long term training plan for my two players, so I'm in dilemma about one thing ... is it better for PG and SG to have more OD or JS. Or even if I should make them to look this way, maybe I am on a wrong path ... pls correct me if I am :)

Here is what I am in dilemma about my PG:
JS 13 JR 10
OD 15 HA 14
DR 14 PA 15
IS 9 ID 6
RB 7 SB 1

or to aim toward:
JS 14 JR 10
OD 14 HA 14
DR 14 PA 15
IS 9 ID 6
RB 7 SB 1

Also for my SG, should I go for:
JS 17 JR 13
OD 17 HA 14
DR 15 PA 14
IS 10 ID 6
RB 7 SB 1

or to put my goal for SG as:
JS 18 JR 13
OD 16 HA 14
DR 15 PA 14
IS 10 ID 6
RB 7 SB 1

Any help and at least a little bit of explanation will be highly appreciated.
Thx a lot for sharing you expiriance and you time you may have waist on helping me.

Have fun,
Mirza

Keeping in mind that I am only in D.IV, from the data I have gathered so far about my team, the Shooting Guard is the primary offensive player in almost every offense that is balanced or outside. The Point Guard is usually third behind the Small Forward. This is based on Shot Attempts recorded so far.

I think I would rather have the better defense on the point guard. They tend to get more steals in M2M and Full Court Pressure than the other outside players since they are usually the first to meet the opposing team's ball handler.

Looking at your proposals, you could probably get away with that second SG stat set, so that both guard positions are good defenders. Because, as I have seen, if the Shooting Guard is shooting a lot, you want to be able to defend that.

I would also probably not go for the 14 in Passing, but instead 15 in Handling for the SG. He is going to have the ball a lot and would probably benefit more from not being stripped and less from throwing good passes. I hope that helps.

The first is better for both of them.
Dont have a big gap between JS and JR for anything but very tall inside players.
OD is very important.
So is PA for SG.

I agree with Robard, first build is better for both of them. However, if you were to change their builds a little, I would lower down the PA (-2) and improve OD or JS, PA is useful but it can be really expensive.

thx guys for replying and giving me some constructive help ... I will stick with option 1 for both of them

@nicolas ... that is really valuable argument ... I was thinking about the cost effectiveness for a long time ... but what I read on the board and experienced little bit (in my short buzzer carrier) is that if guards have low PA they tend to shot from difficult situations due to fact that they can not deliver good offensive flow and it reduces their % regardless how good JS they have ... with dissent PA they shoot from prosper positions so they end up with better % on top of that they tend to make your PF and C much more useful with good assists

My general feeling on this is that in both cases, you'd prefer the level of OD to the level of JS. For the PG, I'd almost even look to drop another level lower on JS if needed to get more OD, if you're looking for more effectiveness in the long term. I would probably trade some JS for more JR on the SG as well, and maybe even drop a level of passing to get the JR. Something like:

PG:
11/10/17/14/14/15 - X/X/X/X

and for SG:
16/15/17/14/15/13 - X/X/X/X

Though I didn't run through cap and salary calculators, and the SG build would definitely see a pretty big salary jump from that build.
