Thanks.

We'd need more data, though, than that. His D is a big factor.

Outside mean it more for mid range to outside shots and all your players need to have great or the needed skill in that area. Same for iso. .

that doesn't mean there wont be inside shot./outside shot if you choose these two tactic. th majority should be in theres areas if the skill is there to do so

ive got a stack of isolation games from this season and last season if you want to check them out.

(79205196)

(79205180)

(79205164)

(79205140)

strangely, in the II games, my PG takes the most shots, he has poor inside shot though, but high driving.

This is not true. Outside ISO does not mean your players will take more outside shots. Inside ISO does not mean your players will take more inside shots. hrudey has it right. A player with just JS/JR is not going to do well in Outside Iso. The shot distribution is very similar for each position Inside Iso vs Outside Iso, but that data is only available to USA offsiters.

ill just post his stats - in answer to your question - he has the equal highest driving with 2 other players.
PG
Jump Shot: marvelous Jump Range: prolific
Outside Def.: prodigious Handling: marvelous
Driving: wondrous Passing: marvelous
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: strong

The following is my SG, who tends to do quite well in the Outside Isolation

Jump Shot: marvelous Jump Range: prominent
Outside Def.: wondrous Handling: wondrous
Driving: wondrous Passing: strong
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: strong Free Throw: tremendous

Is this a shot distribution map? id love to know where this exists!

Secondly, just to extend the conversation a bit more, i think the IO and OO offenses are like Base Offense with the focus on either inside/outside. Base offense tends to just be very 'balanced', looking at the best elements of your players, but i find the II and OI tends to look for more selected 'chinks' in ur oppositions armour

eg: Base offence - SG will take lots of shots, because he is awesome - but OD in this game just kills his FG%
vs
OI where the SG will still take lots of shots, but they will be drives, because he has awesome driving and IS.

thats just a rough generalization in my opinion.

all outside vs inside does is pick who the player being isolated is. Outside whoever has the highest JS/JR. Inside whoever has the highest IS. Other than that shot selection and everything is the same IMHO.

i associate both isolation offenses with the professional game of the late '70s, early '80s. ball would be given to one player, and his four teammates -- and their defenders would all gather on the other side of the free throw lane and watch this one player work his moves on his defender.

god, was that boring.

i would love to be able to create a team that truly mimicked today's game at its best, a driving PG with an option to get it to a big man or kick it out to a three point shooter in the corner. passing, motion, shooting skills on almost all players. everybody involved. the direct opposite of the isolation offenses.
