Wow - I assumed draftees in higher divisions started with higher skills. I see 25 year-olds on the market who are "marvelous" in multiple skills. My 5-star draftee will be 65 before I can train him like that. I guess I'm doing it wrong!
Thanks for the replies.

Is ur trainee this guy?

Kyle Rasmussen

if not, then he should be! haha.

So i would suggest contacting someone from USA forums, grab a mentor, perhaps someone from U21 forums/group, and they should be able to give you some advice about training.

My trainer is lvl 4, and seems to be doing an adequate job. I usually get at least one pop each week. I think my problem is I'm trying to train too many players. I want a balanced team, and so far, that's working just fine in Div. V. But probably not once I'm promoted.

So I'm trying to narrow the focus of training to 4-5 key players, young with high potential. Like my 5-star draftee!

So I'm assuming if I want a team loaded with "marvelous" players, I train a couple and buy the rest? (Over several seasons.)

we seem to have the same approach, i got 9 young talents ranging from 19 to 22 year olds who i alternate training ( 4 players ) a week, and so far i like the pace of their progress with also a level 4 trainer

i think we can stay with that lineup if we are in the lower leagues, ( i am in my country's division 4 league) and currently am 12-1 and 2nd place in my conference. I plan to still stay in this league upto next season, when my core players gets their skill set to at least the 8 to 9 level average. Currently i have an 85k weekly economy and 385k in the bank due mainly to my 6 cup wins this season. I have built up my arena to about 6600 and planning to add 400 more seats before the season ends.

good for you you have a 5 star draftee to anchor your team, if ever i get promoted to league 3 in 2 seasons time, i plan to tank to get a 5 star draftee like yours, then spend another season in league 4 before finally promoting up the ranks til i reach division 2.

promoting , training , arena building and building your economy IMO is one step backward, 2 steps forward.

yep.

Honestly, if you are new-ish to the game, try focusing on 1-2 players. Its really REALLY difficult to train 4-5 players all at once.

Some training concepts which might help you.

- Single position training is bar far, the most effective. Running 2-position Pressure/Passing/OD training is pretty much a waste of time.
- 48 minutes each week in the position to get full training. The difference between 40 mins vs 48 mins is massive, its not a linear scale, its logorithmic. That is, 40 mins is like, 65% of full training (or something like that).
- Younger trainee's train WAY faster than older trainee's. You will notice a significant drop off at 21, and then again about 25.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! One more question about training: I know for game shape I need to get about 60-70 minutes to pop, or even avoid losing a point of GS. Do you also get optimal training for hitting that level of minutes? I know you need 48+, but is training effectiveness also improved if you hit the "sweet spot" of around 65 minutes? (And yes, I know that number can vary depending on stamina and age.)
Thanks!

yer what Perpete said.

48+ mins.. after that, its no different. 50, 60, training doesn't care.

So the sweet spot is... 48+ mins haha.
