I was very excited to hear the news, and I believe everyone else is :)

Basically, now you can use 50 points to reveal all skills of all players! How do you think this will impact scouting? 50 points is a lot, you still need 3 points per player, to reveal potential.

Second, 19y olds now can have skills up to strong(8). Is possible 10 skills, so can the 19y olds actually be better than 18y olds?

Can someone borrow me 200 scouting points please?

Congratz on winning U21 mate :)

Back on topic, after the initial excitement, questions are beginning to arise. It seems that there is just too few scouting points to do anything now..

Let's say you invest maximum points 56, and reveal all skills for players. You have nothing left to do potential revealing..

On the other hand, if you have few skills revealed, 2 or 4, it still means nothing. You are going to train players anyway, total skill count is important. You still need to scout them for potential..

Also, before you could do a combine and skip the 19y olds, now you have to scout everyone once, since 19y old can still be good.

All in all, even if you invest maximally into draft, it's too few, you need to skip every second season or so...

I liked the new stuff a lot. From now on the 19-year-olds with high potential will have greater value and better chance to become something worthy in the future. Well done BB! (y)

Well keep in mind many people don't need to know every skill for a player. You may just want to know a PG's OD and PAS for the draft and not bother with some of the other ones. I know I will not be using that many scouting points. Knowing the potential age and height is still probably enough to decide between players without going into skills. Or at least in my personal opinion. Also, thank you for your kind comments on U21!

Yes, but if I'm going to train a player, I don't care about his one or two skills. I just care about total skill sum. For example, if a short guy has 1 passing and 7 IS, I would still train him as a PG, since passing is training faster.

Overall, I think I'm simply not going to use the new features. Star rating is enough information about players skills. If he's 5 star, he'll have solid overall skills.

Not always, and you should know that. Sometimes guards just get that 5 rating due to a couple very good skills but could have 2-3 OD and 1-2 PAS. I remember last draft their was a player that Drafted a 5/5 PG and his PG had 7 handling and 7 JS/JR and some decent bigman skills but only 2 OD and 3 PAS so he sold him to find a better prospect. Chances are your player will be fine, but this new features are like insurance I guess, just to check to make sure your player has no huge holes for his position.

I like it... not ground breaking but it provides more options and its looking like this was going to be the season to tank and finally use my cache of scouting points. I did hope that they would just make the new scouting options a price (i.e. 50,000k a session) instead of using scouting points too.

Unless in lower level leagues most teams do not draft every season. Most teams invest 2 points per week unless they are going to get a high draft spot then they might increase to 3 points/week.

So for me:

I will probably go with a 3 season route. That way I can see all the stats for all players and then probably take 10-15 players and get their potential.

All this does is make using draft points at high draft positions less fruitful IMO.

Also having 19 year old guys with 8's in stats is nice. This will make them reach higher potential than otherwise would be and increase the number of players that are likely to be useful from each draft.

Potential is still the most important stat IMO from the draft. And this still requires 3 draft points to get to.

I think the main thing here is that it makes 19yo more desirable to draft which in turn means that the draft will run a lot deeper. In the past it wasn't worth investing unless you had a top 3 pick (probably only the top), but now if you can get 5/5 19yo it may actually be worth drafting and training him.

Don't know if the 10 points for 2 skills will be worth it if you still have to spend the 3 to find out potential. If you could find out potential without using any points to find the star rating then maybe spending the points to find out specific skills would be more advantageous.
