http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0] Rebecca Black. The internet phenom made a surprise performance at halftime of Saturday's regular season finale. Inexplicably she also took part in a meet and greet at the Lethargy Hall of Fame, located in an abandoned 'Dress Barn', following the game.
Despite living in California Miss Black has admitted to being a Milwaukee Lethargy fan. "They remind me of myself", Black nasally quipped. "Not very talented & worthy of ridicule."
The Lethargy have been trying to lure a younger fan base in recent weeks. Wendell Carrington, the team's only Hall-of-Famer, is even being featured in a Tiger Beat magazine advertising campaign. Carrington was in attendance Saturday. "I'm not sure where to sit", he explained. "Got to make my mind up. Which seat can I take?" He eventually chose an isle seat.
According to unnamed sources, Milwaukee had petitioned the league to move the game to Friday night, but were ultimately denied. "Looks like we got to get down on Saturday", reportedly muttered the Lethargy GM prior to tip-off.
Season ticket holders may not have been happy about the half-time show, but tomato vendors certainly were. Sang Rebecca Black, "Fun, fun, fun, fun. Looking forward to the weekend", prior to getting hit with one of many tomatoes.
The Lethargy have no possibility of hosting a playoff game, short of making the finals. We at LNL are happy about this, if it means no more Rebecca Black. Bring on a Friday-free off-season.
