Opening Night Tomorrow

After taking their lumps for three seasons in Division III, the Hammerheads faced demotion for Season 11. Despite the demotion, ownership is confident they are heading in the right direction in building a squad that can compete at the upper levels soon. There is a plan in place and they are hopeful they can execute it effectively.

The team has received a bit of a face lift from the end of last year. Gone are backup PF Francis Holman and backup SG Gene Livingston. New to the scene are PF Goran Gagic and rookie SG Elbert Holden. Much is expected from both of these additions as the Hammerheads have high goals for season 11. The veteran Gagic should push youngster Roman Pukhaev in practice and provide sound advice throughout the season. Pukhaev is excited to have him, "I'm thrilled to have GG on the team. He's been a barrell of laughs this offseason and just a great guy to look up to. He bangs me around in practice so I can't wait until the regular season starts so that I don't have to take as much punishment."

Team captain, Ray Muncy, is also excited for tomorrow's opener. "Yeah, its been a tough couple of seasons up in Div III. We just need to work hard in practice, listen to coach, and improve each game. We're growing closer and closer as a team with each season so I'm excited to get this one underway and see how far we've come."
