Press Announcements

Whole Lotta Love...

Cymru 102 - Nippon 97.

That there was a very good win. Prior to the game, I was told by the Japanese coach that if I wanted, I could run my 21 yo guys to "balance it up". I politely told him "no thanks", and planned.
The game went as I expected, tho' to be honest the score flatters Nippon a tinsy bit. Wales U21 were up by 10-12 for most of the 2nd half.

Hanson impacted the game, but in unseen ways. Regardless of what the post game analysis says, the Cymru gameflow was better than that of Nippon (something the Nippon coach agrees with). Add to that, Hanson forced Nippon to play their best defender on him, and that opened up Marshall for a very big game indeed.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was Ernie Bridges. 28 pts, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Awesome stuff.
The Whittal/Ball frontcourt did well. And Lamb in support was impressive too. This is an area we're going to have to work on (our bigs), as we're not as good there as we could be.

Mark Deane has joined the squad, and I'll probably add the other guys to get a good look at them... but they may or may not stick. I'm PRAYING we get some good draftees coming up, because we're a lil' thin as we get younger!

Anyway, a good win against Japan (especially sweet for me!)...

Keep up the good work guys!
