End season 9: good luck to every Cypriot for the final 2 of today and for everyone all around the world that will try a promotion or winning the championship. Let's see 18 years old ranking after one year training, I'm not so happy, but nor so sad... some good player is born even on season 9, so let's start:

Guards:

1) N. Zigouris (9730309) of Associazione Sportiva Roma SpA -> Good work by the Roma (italian football club) fan! He needs JR, may be some "one position" training could be good for him on JR. Good shooter and interesting defender, just ready for ST and FT at 18 y.o.

2) Y. Dimidou (9730350) of T.P. Team -> 10 pop-ups until now, great potential, he's 1 level down Zigouris on JR, but he's got better interior skills, so he could be a prototype of Small Forward too...

3) I. Mastroyiannis (9730194) of BC teammate -> Our point guard of the future... some levels on JS-JR, than we could start again on PA, OD and sometimes 1on1 (to skill up HA and DR, but 2, max 3 during the season)

4) S. Daravanis (9730263) of armadi jeans vi -> Sometimes fouls inhibit his growth, but he's quite complete on primary skills, potential is important, good work until now. JS-OD session for next here

5) S. Vekris (9730494) of K.K. Unknown -> Better shooter than Daravanis, worst defender. He's to grow a lot on defense 3-4 level next season. JS-OD even for Vekris that have a lovely MVP potential

Small Forwards:

1) Y. Dimidou (9730350) of T.P. Team -> Always him... yes... why? because he's got 2 defenses and 2 shots, that sounds good

2) N. Fanoureas (9730440) of Frente Nazarí -> I'm really sorry for his potential because he's quite good everything. 2 level up on shooting (JS-JR-IS), but worst defender.

3) S. Sfaliaridis (9730198) of BC teammate -> Really good. He could play 3 positions (PG-SG-SF) pretty well. He should pop-ups ST and FT during ASG week and end season (as moti has wisely done this week!). Perimetric Small Forward too, as Fanoureas and Dimidou.

4) A. Pappas (9929554) of Pryzanu -> New entry! Not so good on stamina, he needs 3-4 levels during next 2 seasons. Interior Small Forward. Good shooter, interesting defender (he needs OD soon or later..)

5) A. Glikos (9730301) of KAMARI -> VAVANOS has never answered me, but during my "end season recruiting" I've found 5 interesting pop-ups, but the work is very hard... outside and inside!

Inside Players:

1) L. Adamantidis (9730285) of Syntaxer -> Potential would be his limit for NT, but I think that starter potential allow Syntaxer's hope to be a U21 NT player and surely an interesting player for his team. Continue the tour of IS-ID-RB

2) A. Pappas (9929554) of Pryzanu -> Small or Power Forward, good internal skills and defenses, interesting rebounder too...

3) G. Prezas (9867279) of Sharpshooters -> Weak on Rebs, but he's weak on PA too... so I suggest to Greg House to push IS because he will be an offensive terminal

4) P. Markoyiannakis (9931033) of -=Defenders=- -> As Adamantis he's got a low potential for Inside Players, but for the moment is nice. Continue with the training tour (IS-ID-RB)

5) T. Vakalis (9730469) of "U" Mobitelco Cluj -> Same skills as Markoyiannakis, but lower ST suggest to me to put Vakalis on fifth position. Some skill-up on stamina are appreciated during next 2 seasons

I will insert some other players interesting, just a bit behind this five, this is no more a "preference order":

PG/SG: N. Kiprakis, E. Mpountouris, E. Galanakis, P. Kamelakis, P. Petroutsos, P. Naurozidis

SF: S. Daravanis, I. Mastroyiannis, I. Mpampatsikos

PF/C: N. Tsalavoutas, M. Chiotakis, Y. Tsamaslidis, D. Zografidis, A. Konstantaras, I. Mpampatsikos, D. Spazopodis

Guards are pretty good... inside players are weak, as usual here in Cyprus... we have to work on creating more and more Inside Players. Only JohnnyB is focused on Inside Players... I hope to find some others interested in.

Steve Makis

Cyprus NT Manager

They are all close... I think that 10-12 Guards are really near about primary skills.

Hi Steve Makis!

I just wanna tell about my newest acquisition of a 19yo guy from your country. I saw that some of you were already talking about him in NAT U19 thread. Unfortunately, I think that I spend too much for him. My intention of buying him is his potential to be appointed to U19 NT of cyprus. Now I wanna ask you about his chances by trying to convince of him and my trainings plan:

First, right now he has the following stats:

Nikos Zigouris (9730309)

Owner: Florida 96ers

Weekly salary: $ 7 035

DMI: 48500
Age: 19
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: proficient Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: proficient ↑ Handling: average
Driving: respectable Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: inept
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: respectable

Experience: atrocious

Second, why I'm convinced of his potential? So, I'll tell you something about what I'm going to train for the next 3 seasons from now on (season 10-12):

Season 10 to about first half of season 11: Pressing (+ maybe 1 or 2 weeks for condition or freethrows)

Second half of Season 11: Jumpe Range ( I think it's not bad to improve him a bit in these skills)

I'm not so sure about training in Season 12, but i'm switching between the following options.

Season 12: Jump shot and/or Passing(+ maybe 1 or 2 weeks for condition or freethrows)

So, when you calculate everything togehter, in my opinion, he's going to have about the following skilllevels at his 21. birthday (always taking in consideration potential sub in some skills):

Jumpe Shot: prominent - prolific (10-11)
Jumpe Range: strong - proficient (8-9)
Outside defense: tremendous - marvelous (13-15)
Handling: prominent - prolific (10-11)
Driving: proficient - prominent (9-10)
Passing: mediocre
Inside defense: mediocre - average (5-6)
Inside shot, Rebounding, Blocking won't change
condition: respectable - proficient (7-9) -> depends on decline during seasons
Free Throws: mediocre - respectable (5-7) - depends on how many training seasons I'll spend for this

Depending on what I'm going to train in season 12, you can imagine yourself about development.

So, now I'm looking forward to your opinion about his chances of appointment. What do you think?

Greetings, greiel

if you can mix those training plan with a couple of pops in jump shot ( let's say double 11 in JS and OD you will surely see him in U21, also earlier than is 21 y.o.

right now he is a bit behind all our actual guards. I'd suggest you to reach 10 in JS and OD as soon as possible than give him another pop in both, than I'll gladly welcome a strong defending guard( I'd really love a couple of levels up in passing too, but they are not a priority right now.

feel free to ask anything to me also via bbmail.

Thecippis Cyprus U21 coach.

Thx for replying so soon...

Well, I feel pretty comfortable with your suggestions. I think I can switch between OD, JS and JR during the next two seasons, so all together in sum my actual plan or a mix like you suggest is the same.

Ok... first, I'm going to train OD for a couple of weeks until he reaches 11 (maybe 12), after this I'll to a mix of JS + JR until he reaches 11. I think in this point of time we will stand at the end of season 10.
I think the very best will be that we stay in contact in this thread or via BBmail and I'll tell about any improvements... ok???

But I got some questitions:
Do think that you'll appoint him at the age of 20?
Which players are his opponents for appointment and which comperable skills do those those current 20yo SG's or PG's have?

just asking cause you told me that right now he's behing your current guards! Which guards do you mean? Those in NT or those you have chances to be appointed like my one?

you see, I feel free to ask you... ;-)

reply soon,

greiel
