i would say 10 so you don't really have to manage minutes. But 8-9 is doable if you like to manage minutes aswell.

then i will fire 1 player and put two on sale and if that worked i will be with 9 players and i cut my cost

Be aware that with a team of less than 11 it will be very hard to manage your minutes correctly to get proper training and to keep game shape at optimum levels. Bear in mind that game shape is extremely important and it's likely that it works as a multiplier on all skills. You want to keep GS at strong/proficient at all times.

If you play 3 games a week, you get a total of 720 minutes. 65 is said to be the optimal number of minuten with regard to gameshape. 720/65= 11 and a little bit. But of course, that will be very tough to manage every week, for every player to get 65.

Also you can get some players injuried, so if you wanna do that, you should have on the bench players which are capable to play on more than 1 position.
