A couple of seasons ago, it was still written in the rules that managers with players on national teams, would get a refund of their players salary. However this was removed from the rules I thought and there was an announcement that such a thing was going to be postponed. However isn't the time right, seeing how salaries are going through the roof due to the exponentiality of salary build-up, to introduce these measures? Or don't managers need an incentive to train their national talents to the max? Is it totally out of the picture, or should it be? How do you feel about it?

As long as the taxes for the D1 revenue remain, I don't think any change like that will be introduced, since the player salarys are still too low to compensate the arena revenues then. And since many D1 teams got NT players, it will be kind of weird to have arena revenue taxes and salary refunds.

More incentive for the rich getting richer? A team in a small country could basically eliminate a large chunk of thier salary.

That certainly would give national team coaches alot of economic power over some teams, possibly even series rivals.

Having never had a NT player perhaps someone can tell me what the negative is in owning a NT player?

none, there are only positive sides. Your player can't carry an injury to league games, but your player gets experience and the flag, which might add a few $$ if you plan to sell him

Well when i had 8 NT players last season....i did have many NT coaches trying to influence my training regime..

So the BB mails were a bit laborious... as if i need to be told to look after their Gameshape - ha!!

Perhaps thats why i only have 3 guys now (or maybe im down to 2!!)

@Superfly -But you have the right to tell them to pound sand right? You dont have to train what they want and you certainly cant please them all. I assume you did what was best for your team as I would?

If NT players were chosen by a formula and handed to NT coaches it would be incentive to train properly, but NT players are chosen by the coaches. What if my series rival (in the future) were the NT coach? Too much politics involved. Now I have to kiss the NT coaches Arse so he doesnt drop my NT player from the team and send my economy reeling? Should I start stocking my team with NT players from smaller countries? Then I can improve my team really fast by not paying half my team a salary but still filling my 25k arena? Oh man, say it isnt so :P
