MexicanTaxiDriver vs Borac Basket
MTD decided to try and save enthusiasm by using GDP, and it backfired as Borac Basket pulled off the overtime win! Borac Basket advance to their first EBBL finals!
Mortal Wombats vs Team Nook
It was Mortal Womabts to won the battle against Team Nook as they were tactically set up. Kammu got the better of Arrows with a correct GDP guess and forcing an incorrect guess for Arrows. The Womabts head on to the finals, aiming for their 3rd title in 4 seasons.
Mortal Wombats will be definite favourites going in to the finals with HCA, more enthusiasm and Borac showing all his players’ skills. Would take something remarkable for Borac to pull off an upset.
Isca Centurians vs Bournemouth Drunkers
Isca cemented their EBBL status with a resounding game 2 win over Drunkers. Drunkers struggled to score, only managing 115 points over the 2 games. Drunkers will demote to division 2.
Reds BC vs BC Black Dragons
Reds BC has also retained their EBBL position with a 2 game sweep over Black Dragons. In contrast to the Isca/Drunkers series, this series was full of scoring, with 470 points scored over the two games. BC Black Dragons will demote to division 2.
MILF Hunters vs Arsenal 98
Perhaps the most surprising sweep saw Arsenal 98 defeat MILF Hunters. MILF went with less effort in this game, presumably to try and make a game 3 win more achievable, but went with the obvious offence which allowed Bergkamp to get the double GDP which in combination got them the win. MILF Hunters will demote to division 2.
In the division 2 playoffs, 3rd overall ranked BlackRockWhale were eliminated, putting the in prime spot to earn the final promotion spot. Scunthorpe Devils and Los Mikitos were also eliminated and are out of contention for promotion. Only 3 #1 seeds remain, and two of those in the same division.
