Jordan Reynier (46690620) who you bought on 8/15 before the official newsletter update on 8/27 has 15 JS and 11 JR, so he is actually a very solid neutral/outside offensive player. Yip Tok Chow (47412776) who you also bought on 8/18 before the official newsletter on 8/18 also has 16 JS and looks to be a solid neutral/outside offensive player for D.III.
You want to blame this offseason, but I would say it's your additions during the season that hurt you more. You made three purchases in the last few weeks before the playoffs (11/2, 11/4, 11/7) for a playoff push and all three of which appear to also be inside focused, after having months of data that a solely inside-focused team may not be working as well as you wanted it to.
I also think that your team might have a bit of a stamina issue (5 of the 7 players you have listed on the TL have mediocre or worse stamina; 2, 3, 3, 5, 5). This will hurt your players effectiveness regardless of tactics or adjustments to the game engine.
Additionally, Girinukai looks to simply have a better team than you and no 34+ year old players who have gotten worse this season. Your team has six 34+ year-olds and you did not have home court advantage in the playoffs.
At the end of the day, I understand it can be frustrating when you are purchasing players/training players for a current game engine, just to have it change slightly after, but I don't believe that is the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd reason why you did not win your division.
