Thank you, to be honest, Malaysia U21 NT had some very tough seasons. At the beginning of season 56, we were at World Rank #72. Thanks to a very good group, we managed to turn things around and finish at WR #33 by the end of the season.

We are now back to begin Asia #6 behind China, Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Philippines and Australia.

For many seasons, we don't have the necessary depth to compete against the continental best teams. We need to rely on 20yo to provide heavy minutes. The only way to improve would be to involve foreign managers because our local managers are already doing an incredible job.

pass up the opportunity to train U21... Partly my fault for having conceived such an environment.

I don't agree with that statement. We always had a few foreign trainer helping with a quality trained young Malaysian player not we never managed to keep a foreign manger focused on training multiple Malaysian players. Most managers don't pay much attention to the nationality, if they got the trainee with the right potential / skillset, they will train him. One thing which may have changed during the recent past are the utopia draftee who are sometimes trained by the team which drafted them.

Getting foreign managers involve takes time and efforts. I didn't put up the needed time and efforts to have such a boost for our U21 NT. When I did so, the pool of potential trainees was too little to draw real interest, that's why I gave up.

One last word to why our U21 NT stays competitive, it's because our local managers are doing an incredible job at training young Malaysian players. There are some players with low potential who reach their cap at a very early age (Philip Joseph, Kaivalya Manjit) and others with more potential who may become NT potential candidates in a few seasons (Wei Wenqing, Siranjeevi Rajan). Here are 4 players from 4 different local teams, most probably the 4 most useful managers to our U21 NT. Those 4 are the fantastic 4, the 4 managers who allowed the U21 NT to remain competitive all those years by training Malaysian players each and every season. They should get the credit for our U21 NT good performances.

Thank you!

Unlike you, I don't think we can make it to the next round if we lose. Our great PD puts us on top of other teams with the same W/L ratio. Taiwan, Russia, China, Sweden, Ukraine/Lebanon, Switzerland/Iran will win. I don't expect Armenia or Indonesia to win, however, if one of the following teams: Bahamas, Columbia or Pakistan also win, we're out. Despite losing only to Serbia, we need to win against England in order to qualify.

Wenqing is our leader this season but Rajan is equally good. Both will very soon be NT players but they need at least one more season to train. Their experience levels are already at mediocre (5). As for the NT is concerned, Peter Joseph might also be player to consider in the coming seasons while Johnathan Victor is a bit late at the moment (but he could be well catch up). Other players don't have the necessary potential to be in the NT.

One more word about our world rank: last season, we started at #72, our lowest in many years if not in our entire history but we managed to end up last season at #33. This season, we moved from #33 to #22 to be where we belong. We should set up a goal not to go beyond #30 and to target for top15.

And we did it! What an incredible finish with -14 (71-57) and only 2:20 remaining, we managed to score a buzzerbeater to play overtime and win it! During the last 2:10 of the regular time, Malaysia U21 NT scored 6 3-pointers!!!

Let's wait and see who we're going to face in the next round.

OK, tiada masalah, it happens. Jonathan Victor will also be an important player next season as he can do a bit of everything.
