Hey everyone! First off I would like to thank you all for voting me as the new head coach, I am super excited to get the season started this coming Monday. This will be our U21 forum thread for the season. I will be using this to post weekly outlooks and have general U21 discussion with everyone. So on that note, lets take a look at our first group.

Our opponents we have for this first group are Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Overall a pretty favorable group for us, with most of these nations having called their players up to their rosters already, we can see that they have some decent starting pieces but not much depth. Chile at the end of our group will be a tough test, but we will explore that matchup when we get there. Up first we have Colombia.

Colombia: Colombia is led by 22k PG José Manuel Plazas, followed then by 17k C Luis Alfredo Escobar. They have a younger roster than you typically see, with only 7 of their 18 rostered players being 21 years old. I am curious to see how they approach this game.

Let's start of this season right with a win!

Great game for the squad to start off the season, with mostly balanced scoring across the board with Polk leading the way at 24 points and 15 rebounds. Webster was injured midway through the second quarter where Benjamin had to step into his place for the rest of the game. Although Benjamin had an inefficient game shooting, he ended with 10 assists and 7 rebounds at the PG position before fouling out. The team as a whole was a little too aggressive for my liking, hoping to turn that around next week.

Next week we are up against Bolivia, who is coming off of a 15 point loss to Costa Rica. They ran a BO/M2M and turned out with some decent performances from their bigs, but their 1-3 positions could not keep up. Danilo Zubieta is their lone player above 10k salary, an 18k big man. Should be a pretty straight forward game for us, looking to have a similar outcome to our previous game.

Go USA!

Great game across the board for the team, with 5 players scoring at least 20 points. Hobbs was one of those 5 players while cashing in a perfect 9-9 from the field, along with 9 rebounds. The team was crashing the boards tonight, securing a 71-29 advantage in the rebounding department. The 75% 3 point percentage also cant go unnoticed, and the team all around chilled out on the fouls from last week which was nice to see.

Ecuador is up next for the squad, who is currently sitting at 2-0 coming off of a nice win against Costa Rica earlier today. In that game, they were lead by their SF Daniel Lappenti, who scored 23 points on 10-15 shooting. They will definitely be our toughest competition to date, but we plan to come out prepared to put up another good showing for our nation.

Lets make it 3-0!
