Good start from him off the first 2 matches! Just a reminder, ill close off the competition at the tip off of the next match, so you have 5 days to throw in a guess to win 3 months supporter package.

I'm going back to weekly write ups and MVPs this season, well that is my aim anyway.

Australia defeated Macau 128-76
(63294)

A nice start to our Asian Tournament saw us with a nice 50pt win. Whilst it is a nice win, there was certainly room to clamp down more in the 4th where we were outscored. I hope this is not a pattern in games to follow.

MVPs
3 votes- Hai Nguyen- 37pts,9 3pters, 8 assists, 4 steals.
2 votes- Sanjiv- 20pts, 6 boards. 80% FG
1 vote- Satyanaraina- 10pts, 8 boards, 4 assists, 83%FG.

FG%s were very nice all round as the team shot at 55%. Even better was 3pt% at 59%! Id expect a bigger dominance in rebounds.

Next week is our matchup vs South Korea. Dont forget to put your tip in for the competition of highest scorer of the season before Monday night!

Australia defeated Sth Korea 94 - 69
(63298)
In our 2nd match, we ave asserted authority to hold a nice 2-0 lead in the Pool B.
In most stats we have clearly stayed ahead, however shooting %s were interested, dropping to only 39% and 33% from long range.

MVPs
3- Nguyen- 16pts, 7 assists, 4 boards, 50%FG.
2- Barnden. 14pts, 5 blocks, 3 boards, 3 assists, 62% FG.
1- MacQuaid- 14pts, 10 boards in a great double double.. however, 2 turnovers and low FG% under 40%. And his opponent went for 30pts.

Next week we have he bye so ill book us a scrimmage. The competition is now closed for entry, and Nguyen has pulled away a little further after tonights performance.

Australia take down Hong Kong in big rival game 97-89
(63304)

That was a big game for us that can set us up for a favourable 2nd round draw. Hong Kong went shot after shot with us in the 4th, and the game wasnt really sealed until the final seconds. We had 3 outstanding performers so ive looked deep into shooting efficiency and also defensive effectiveness to udge MVPS
3- Kusto. Sure he was 8-18FG%, but 23pts, 6 boards, 4 assists, 3 3pters, and he hit 4-6FTs when we only managed 7-20. His defense was outstanding holding his man to 6-20FG and kept his man to a -17 +/-
2- Nguyen. 22pts on 10-20FG, 5 assists and kept his man to 6pts.
1- MAcQuaid. 13pts, 21 boards and a big 3pter late. Could easily have been 3 votes! His man probably got away from him at times with 12pts and 13 boards- better shape could have assisted with this.

Outstanding work with that win, coach. VERY hard to pick MVPs out of that performance.

Australia defeats Vietnam 123-64
(63306)

A dominant performance from our team, with some great momentum so far this season.

MVPs
3- Ho- 24pts, 3 assists, 3 boards, 2 blocks, shooting 71%
2- Nguyen- A great double double, 14pts on 50% shooting, 10 assists, 3 boards.
1- Papa- 18pts on 50% shooting, 4 assists, 3 boards.

Another game where stat lines are flattering, so very hard to rank in order our players value in the win, they were all outstanding as the team stats show- 58% as a team, 39-8 assist count, owning the board count by 20, and other individual performances like Rupuma with 15 boards, and MacQauiads nice stat line. Good job to everyone.
