Question for all potential U21 Managers ???
I understand that the need for well trained MVP / HOF players to be utilized on the U21 team so they can continue on to the National Team. My question is can a well trained Superstar player find a role as a backup or utilized in case of an injury or a spot role based on a skill set when playing against a particular opponent ?

A well trained Superstar can make the team as a starter.
Look at this season with John Ponder (48768429), Pablo E(48770514) and Eugene Santos (48770509). Really, our entire guard class last season.

We even had a PAS guard (48768858)

It's easy to cap a SS big u21(likely even), but guards and SF you can still do SS and PAS if they are built right.

Thank you for that information, it gives more options not only for the U21 team Manager but also USA Managers that might not have that MVP / HOF player drafted nor can afford to purchase those type players to train for the U21 Team. However with that being said it does give those Managers with SS potential players incentive to train these players up with knowing that their player has an opportunity to make the U21 Team..

Oriole beat me to the punch but I am going to have the same answer. Superstar guards are very much in the picture as starters, not just backups. Perennial allstars are probably the players restricted to backup roles, however at the beginning of the season they may be able to start, they just wont be able to scale up with the rest of the higher potential players as the season progresses. Superstar bigs can actually be crucial pieces to the puzzle, because in order to not cap them you must train some secondaries early on, which makes them a little more versatile.

The only exception with 7 pot players is a well balanced SF. I sold a player this past season who is already at 74TSP by end of S55. Guys like that can take on a lot of ID and OD early on without hurting their cap too much.

Absolutely
Our managers are our greatest resource and it’s a dumb lottery often times to get an MVP/HOF player in the draft. Getting those « unlucky » managers invested with a player that they can access cheaper is the way we can build our future.

I still love you

Antwon is a wonderful candidate. If I lose then I'm going to learn as much from him as possible. I have 100% faith in my abilities as U21 coach which is the reason for this entire debate, but I have faith in him as well.
