Oof... Sonicz take another dive. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of the end.

Week 3 has come and gone. All five remaining cup teams from last week made it past this round. Good job IV.54!! Good luck this next week!

BBM news was mostly positive again.

In Tier 5, Archers (2-1) edged out their Polish opponent thanks to a Tommy Tomlinson jumper with 9 sec left that capped a massive comeback in the fourth.
Qmoney (2-1) outclassed a 5-man squad from Hong Kong in Tier 10 action.
In Tier 11, Bulldogs (1-2) got spanked by a tough Brazilian team. California Supreme (2-1) powered past their Spanish opponent thanks to a strong fourth period.
In Tier 12, Orchestra (3-0) outlasted their Emirati foe to snag a win. California Supreme II (2-1) got hammered by their Italian opponent in the second half to suffer their first BBM loss. Qmoney II (2-1) shredded their Lithuanian opponent to keep their tournament hopes alive. And the Sonicz slide continues with the 3-man lineup leaving them 1-2.

Next week starts inter-conference play. Match of the week is Qmoney @ California Supreme on Thursday, where we get to start seeing how the two sides stack up. The only other chance at a game is if Sonicz come off of bot-watch and fields a team against Qmoney.

Week four ends with Qmoney as the sole survivor in the cup, fending off a 3rd quarter surge @ the Tenacious Turtles. Everyone else had relatively uneventful games against tough opponents.

In the world of BBM:

T5: Archers improve to 3-1 behind strong defensive play against their Spanish foe.
T10: Qmoney (3-1) rained down 14 threes and 25 from the stripe to top their Utopian/Slovenian opponent despite disappointing field goal efficiency.
T11: Bulldogs (2-2) pound out a win versus a Greek team of mostly US players. Cali Supes also took down a Greek team to go 3-1 and keep their bracket hopes alive.
T12: Orchestra (3-1) couldn't overcome a slew of turnovers and failed to complete a potential Greek sweep for IV.54 this week. Cali Supes II (2-2) failed to start a SG and gave the game to their Macedonian foe. Qmoney II couldn't stop their Spanish opponent's twin towers and falls to 2-2. The Sonicz mark two weeks without a login by imploding against a Macedonian team to go 1-3.

The Orchestra gets all the excitement this week, facing both the Bulldogs and Archers. With Archers far and away the league's dominant team, we'll call the Tuesday game the match of the week– pitting the two 6-2 teams against each other.

And in other news... California Supreme adds a $40k Estonian PF (!!!) to make things interesting.

Things begin to get serious in week five. Qmoney comes up just short in a shootout in the cup and the league's cup chances are snuffed out.

In the world of BBM:

T5: Archers (3-2) were unable to hold onto an early lead over a Bosnian team and ended up logging their second loss.
T10: Qmoney (3-2) ran their high octane offense right into the teeth of a strong Italian team and couldn't overcome, despite a 29-point performance by Cheng Hao.
T11: Bulldogs (2-3) came up short against a Turkish team in a low-scoring affair. Three 25-point performances from Cali Supes' (4-1) guards squashed a French team's hopes amidst a flurry of personnel changes.
T12: Orchestra (4-1) overpowered a Serbian opponent to keep their bracket hopes alive. Cali Supes II (3-2) obliterated a Slovenian foe. Qmoney II (3-2) made quick work of a Russian team that fielded only 4 players. The Sonicz (2-3) had a login earlier this week and set a full lineup to sail past an Uruguayan team.

The most interesting matchups are on Tuesday: California Supreme host the Orchestra, and Bulldogs host Sonicz under the bright lights! We'll call that one the game of the week.

Vacation prevented me from weekly updates, but I want to say congratulations to California Supreme on making the bracket stage of the BBM competition in Tier 11. You made an epic third period run and hung on despite a lot minute surge in that last game!

Welcome to thatguy and The Beer Bellys! Hope you enjoy the game. Feel free to ask questions in forums or bb-mail. This game is kind of a bear to get started on. But a little strategy and delayed gratification can go a long way! Enjoy!

It's been a while since I did a review:

We're in that part of the season where Cup and BBM chances are over. And playoff position is basically set. With 5 games to go, the only real questions are these: Will Cali Supes keep enough talent to best the Bulldogs in the semis? And what kind of team will The Beer Bellys be?

With that in mind, game of the week is Archers at Cali. If Archers take a loss this season, this is the most likely. But I wouldn't hold your breath. Other non-bot games are Orch @ Bellys tonight, and Cali @ Bulldogs on Tuesday. Both are a preview of likely semifinal matchups. Good luck all!

Thank you for going easy, I expected much more of an ass kicking lol. I played a long long time ago, so not completely new. Although already making new mistakes ha ha. Focusing on butts in seats for now and then see what I can get in the draft. Give me a couple seasons and I'll be competing. I made it to III last time I played, wish I hadn't quit.

Welcome, Dakidd9! You've joined right at the beginning of the most boring time for BB, with your franchise having just been knocked out of the playoffs. If you've played before, welcome back! If not, be sure to ask questions in the help forums and get connected with the community here. There is a lot to learn about the game at first. I'm also happy to share what I know either in forums or in BB-mail. Or the USA Discord site is where a lot of the active managers converse: https://discord.gg/t75PuwGQ

GG California Supreme. I was getting more nervous by the second as a watched it live. Then you took out my best player and I figured I was done. Nice work with the tactics.
