So here I was, unbeaten in the league since the AllStar break, sitting in second and looking forward to a home playoff game. Win the last game - at home - and I can feel really good about the season.
18 point lead after 3. Lead is completely pissed away and I watch my team head to its 5th overtime game this season.
Down by 1. Less than a minute left. 4 (count 'em), 4 timeouts left. Starting PG and SG on the bench. Coach does not call a time out. Garrett misses a shot. Warden gets the rebound. Instead of going back up for the shot, it ends up in the hands of the backup PG. "NO!, Not Suganob!", I say as the shot clangs off the rim.
Where did I go wrong? Last week when I was setting up my team for the scrimmage, I decided at the last minute to use the starters as subs (rather than just go with the 5 subs on their own). Just wanted to make the game more competitive. It ends up going double OT. Starters all get 85-90+ minutes. Game shape drops all around. And that's how you end up pissing away an 18 point lead in the 4th quarter.
Kudos to KBC. Beaten me twice and deservedly so. Good luck in the playoffs. I'm just going to drink heavily till then.
