I dunno, the addition of Utopia has got me back interested in certain aspects of the game. If nothing else, I'm back to training young players and chasing flags.

Well you guys are the anti-motivation.

Utopia is kind of cool. I liked getting a fresh roster. But not having a national team kind of negates any real reason to try really hard training the new team.

All in all I was all excited to promote up, but honestly being in D2 isn't nearly as fun. It's basically a million times harder to make money and be competitive the higher up you get, which kind of stinks.

I liked/gained new interests by converting my team to all American. It limits my options for sure, but I don't even realize it any more since I haven't looked at the TL without clicking USA players only for about 2 years. That being said I probably have been able to look at almost every USA player with over 10k salary that has been listed on the TL.

I actually found that I made a bunch of money in D.II. I think what might be hindering your finances is your lack of luxury boxes and LT. To be fair, I did avoid relegation while getting the 3rd pick one season, and sold the draftee for 1.5 mil, which could be affecting my memory. I was never in a negative weekly income, however, until the final weeks before the playoffs last season.

The lack of forum activity definitely affects the gain though, because going from D.III to D.II. you expect the forums to be more excited and for there to be more posts, but when that is not the case it is a severe letdown.

If this isn't an advertisement for more people to come to the II.4 forums because that's where it's at, I don't know what is. If someone could swap me out of that league into a different II, that would be ideal kthxbai!

Alright, Ram! This helps a little.

I've got two Americans I can build around, and I'll try and sell the foreigner jerks. A couple of them have some crazy TPEs right now, so this could be as good a time as any.

Not a bad thought either with the LT and boxes. I'll see what I can do if I ever get any cash.

Training can help you raise money and put a better team on the floor. I consider the NT a distant 3rd for reasons to train

Yes, the market is pretty high right now so your guys should sell for a decent amount, but keep in mind that also means the players you need to buy will be expensive as well. The switch was something I did one player at a time. Found a suitable American replacement for a foreign guy, bought one and sold the other. It was a little bit of a process, but I was able to keep winning while doing it so it worked well for me.

I forgot my ranked list for training at home, but I would agree that training for the NT isn't a huge reason that I train. Primarily because its so hard to train for.

Its very hard to get a 18 yo and train him up from start to finish to be in the NT either because:
1: You are in a low division and eventually his salary will grow monstrous and you can't afford him.
2: You are in a high division and can't really be competitive whilst training 18-21 year olds.
3: It requires a lot of money to buy one of these stud trainees (Ironically sometimes the same or larger amount of money than you would get for him if he was fully trained.

So it usually happens that one team trains the player in his early years and has to sell him to someone else who can afford the salary. This formula breaks the initial "bond" that you have with your 18 year old player. You can't say "Look at how good I trained this guy, because he was crap when I got him" because he was already trained and actually pretty decent when you got him. The "bond" between your 18 year old is there because you know how much he sucked when you got him and now he is actually a good player.

Boo. I'm impatient. I'm doing it all NOW!

In terms of the NT training debate, my only point is that it's negative for Utopia not to have a NT. And since game wide I'm kind of sick of just trying to promote and am struggling to make money, the NT is a benefit I look at for a goal sometime. But generally I agree, you don't train primarily for the NT.

Hey look! People are in the forums!

Yes, and what's up with the Lumberjacks? Only five games in and he already has more losses than last season?
