Tom you are right !!
also you have explained a right way of developing not only the U21 national team, but your team also!!!
i think that in 2-3 years you'll be one of the most strong irish team. and this cause you are training in the right way.

I hope some others irish mangers will follow you .

i want also to underline this
The early years are so important to a player

if we lost the first years of training , after a great young player won't be able to achieve his potential.
So it's very important what we are trying to make understand to all irish community,

if you have young players that you are not going to train, sell them! It's good especially for your team, cause your player is losing value each week ...

by the way, train train train :D Single position !!! :D

Well it's great to see we are developing some talents, but I must say it's disappointing to hear that a lot of our U-21 players are not trained.

Every Irish manager should really train specific area/s, try to draft players to go with their training area, sell those other talents they don't train so they can reinvest money into their squad, and only by foreign players in areas you don't train (unless you want a cheap reserve in case players get injured)

It's good to see we are developing good centres, an area which I believe Matt said we were lacking in, but it's disappointing that so many of our 18 talents in this area are not trained. The early years are so important to a player.

well told Tom!! :D

Anyway EESS71 is making an amazing work and, to be honest, there are several users (like you) who train in the best way their players . Instead I'm afraid there are not enough well-trainers for point guards and shooting guards, but I hope to be wrong :(

Yeah Matt, even in my own division I see an 18yo PG with Superstar potential who hasn't played one minute all season. Could have been a great player if trained :(

Hopefully we can get some good guard trainers.

And yes EESS71 is doing a great job! Hopefully I'll have some good news for him 2omorow. :)

just a quick summary about the growth of the young irish Centers.

we left with this situation

18 y.o.
Name Surname ID Age height
James Osman 13565060 18 206 REALLY WELL TRAINED , great potential !!
Larry Townsend 13565388 18 206 Trained ? NOT TRAINED, the coach do not respond to our bbmail
Daniel Atkins 13565391 18 203 Trained? NOT TRAINED, the coach do not respond to our bbmail
Terry Breen 13565130 18 208 Now finally on the market , a lot of time wasted. nowTRAINED from a good manager
Peter Daniels 13921095 18 211 Not trained . after being sold nowTRAINED from a good manager
Ivan Whitaker new entry (great matt discovery!!) , well trained is now at 27 in primary skills, good JS ! low potential.
Here also the best 19 y.o. Centers
Name Surname ID Age height Role
Robert Fallon 12723944 19 218 C WELL TRAINED
Shaun Mulligan 12148200 19 216 C WELL TRAINED
Gavan Redmond 12148126 19 208 C TRAINED , NOT MORE TRAINED why ?
Finbarr O'Donnell 13002352 19 201 C WELL TRAINED
Patrick McEvoy 12147986 19 208 C trained? NOT TRAINED

as you can see we have NO 20 y.o. centers..... it's important to say that right now the best 21 y.o. center has 33 in total
in the primary skills.
Our best 19 y.o. player has now 31 ! So he is much much stronger as a player but , right now we are a little under
the present situation... but more more better we will be at the end of 21th year of the actual 19y.o. players.

More ...our 18 y.o. best players are now 27 ! As you can see with one year more of good train the'll be at least 34 (better of our present 19 y.o. - even better of our 21 y.o.!!!)

BUT ..... we can count only on 2-3 player for year, is too poor as situation. SO IT'S IMPORTANT not to loose any potential player at this draft.

if you pick a good player that you know you won't train ...sell him!!! Look at Townsend , at the beginning of this season his value was of 1,2-1,5 million € , now perhaps 6-700K. He is loosing value every day , cause not trained (we suppose... having no response from his coach)... we 'll be really happy of the opposite.

so selling a draftee you won't train is the best not only for the national team, but also and especially for your club!

for any question or comment , write on the forum or bbmail.

Good to see Barry on there, I'll try my best to make him a good player for your U21 team (and, possibly, your NT - his potential may limit him on that though).

Just let me know if you want anything in particular done!

I know your training program and I think it's the best one. I must admit that great power forwards and centers are growing up. In fact Osman, Fallon and Mulligan are going to be dominant centers like no others in Ireland. Instead, until now, there are no point guards or shooting guards at the same level of these players. For this reason I'm very glad to see your spirit and I'm sure that Barry will be a great player in 2 seasons.. he has a shiny future ;)

i want to make a point of the situation regarding Centers.

18 y.o.

A good draft , we have at least 4 players that are very interesting. 3 hall of famer that are trained, perhaps they did not started from a marvellous sum of skills ,but they are trained in single position and this will make the difference.
the best player drafted is a superstar but with only 196 cm of height, well trained, probably for the U21 he 'll be a good prospect!

19 y.o.
after the two players that are already in the U21 roster, we don't have too much....
One of them has a limit in his potential, the other one is the best player in Ireland and he'll be the future dominant center of the nation, also for the NT . Write his name ... James Osman, and sign also the name of his coach ... :D

After them 2 or 3 players that need a lot of train, one could become a tactical weapon , the other has the potential to grow, but right now is a little behind a normal level...

I think that who is going to be elected this season has to have the objetive of making sure that Pg and Sg are growing.

Soon we'll have to start the scouting of the new generation of 18 y.o. players.
So ... even if we'll look at each series in detail, if you want to put in evidence your best draftee ...you can.

BBmail to matt's staff or to me and if there are the right conditions we'll insert them in the DB.

In particular for Center we'll start from loose conditions , Potential at least 5 , height 203 cm (6.6 feet) , Minimum 4 or 5 in the 3 primary skills. Obvoiusly if you have an all star with all 4 in IS-ID.RB .... welll how to say ... don't write me :D
if you have an 7 IS-ID and 4 in RB well ...you can , especially if you have good height and potential :D

Obviously also the just drafted 19 y.o. players , especially (but not only) with high salaries (at least 4-5K) and good potential can be sent....they'll need to be trained single position, but they are good player to follow.

Also, any 9-10 potential player has to be sent... and trained !! We have also the major NT to think about.. :P
