Hey guys

Anyone know if it matters if you constantly play a player not in their recommended position? I have a 6.1 player who is my best player but he is allocated as a small forward, but I always play him as PG or SG as his skills match those the best. Any thoughts?

I dont think it matters.

I think its just that the recommended position will be based on skills and such factors. If he is, however, short enough to qualify as a guard and has attributes that are suited to the position nothing bad will come of it. My SG has a best position of SF as well.

edit: removed height after reading MichaelHill 's message.

Height has no effect on how a player plays in a position. Height only effects the training speed of a player

The skills are the only thing that count for the game engine.
According the BB-Forrest the reasoning behind this is that the skills already take height into account. This means a short player that has proficient rebounding is as good at rebounding as a tall player with proficient rebounding.

Just a final tip for everyone here.

I think I am going to win this season just because of one thing.

I found this site:

http://www.bb-stats.org

If you set your access key in your profile here on BuzzerBeater and then sign in there, you can see the calculated best lineup on the Team page. I have basically always used the recommended lineups and they kick ass.

Another thing is buy some 18 year old players with mediocre or above skills in a general area and then just train them as much as you can (48 minutes a week in a selected position is full training - any more is useless). In a season you can get a few strong or proficient skills which kick the butt off old players with respectable.

Use the Wiki (you can find the link off BB-Stats) if you have more questions or need tips.
