Agree with you. And I would much rather train an 18 year old star potential player with that salary than an almost 20 years old Hall of famer. Such player costs very little after the draft been done. I could train the player to a $30k or so salary with a higher training speed as he is two years younger instead. Can't build up a very high quality player though but that will as well be difficult due to training improvement slowing down due to age with a 20 year old player.

Afraid you have overpaid to a very high extent. Best option might be to sell him and hope that someone else also misunderstand the value of his potential at such late age and with such low salary. Had he had better passing and inside shooting he could have compensated a rather low salary pretty well though but now you probably need to waste time with this to get a player that do not lack big weaknesses as a Small forward.

take it easy on the fellow dear mates,

dont worry mistakes like this makes you better, i would say try to develop him instead of selling him quick because surely you might sell him on a lower price and thats bad.

if your purpose is to train someone then continue on, i cant blame you but at least get your money back

I got this guy for 200K, in a bid war: was he worth it? Am curious to hear what other GM's think, trying to get a feel on how people buy and sell :)

Not that bad, but he only can be an SF, and he has some big holes on this skills like rebounding and passing mostly. In my opinion when u want to train an SF who is short then u start from the inside skills, couz younger player=developing faster. Then you can train his outside skills. (Shorter guys develops outside skills faster, and the opposite) I feel that height at least for the big men that i am training height maybe more important than age

A decent player that will be tricky to train. Small forward must be the best to train.

For me he is not possible to use a PG due to horrible passing. He is not reasonable as SG due to horrible jump range and passing as well as handling needs to be better. As SF he will not suffer as much from poor jump range and passing but it will stop him from ever being really good unless you decide to sacrifice a lot of training at him which I don't think you should. Can't be a center or power forward with atrocious rebounding.

Afraid that you will find it difficult to make him that good.

Get his OD up to strong and then his JS and JR up to strong. With those 3 strongs, you might be able to get your money back. He can't play SF with a pitiful ID.. He will be a good SG. peace

Such plan are likely to take at least 12 weeks. I do think that he can earn more money from buying an 18 year old draft and improve that players skill than to train such old and poorly balanced player.

Want to correct myself regarding salary caps. In this message (98371.35) there are a probably pretty correct estimation. Even if salary cap for an allstar is at about 50k I still think that a Hall-of-Famer with low salary and almost 20 is a poor option to train as it will take many seasons to reach 50k and it will probably be very slow training due to age when the salary cap of an allstar is reached and the last 100k should be hunted. But that is just my belief. Now this player has the problem of needing to train some less important skills a lot which will further slow down the progress of the player.
