Yip Su Yeng, Li Jin Yew carry Singapore to win over Malaysia 86-74

12 points win seemed convincing, but wasn't easy as Malaysia is the first country that starting to expose Singapore weaknesses.

Playing against 2/3 defense were making life difficult for Merlions, as Li Jin Yew and other bigman didn't get any easy buckets like they did. However, the boys showed in on the other end, with strong & relentless mano el mano defense, which did not make them lose any single lead, taking 43-33 advantage before halftime.

Brilliant playmaking kept Singapore preserving the 10 points lead, thanks to Akhuga Chawla and Long Mingfa, who dished the best cuisine of the night which totaling 15 assist at the end of 3rd quarter. At the final quarter, the most closest deficit Malaysia able to reach was 77-86, and never got a good shot off to let Singapore walked away with 86-74 victory.

Captain Yip Su Yeng lead Singapore team with 23 points & 8 rebounds, while Li Jin Yew has 20 pts & 13 rebs and Mohd Syamsuri Ahmad scored 16 points. All three players has racked 23/33 FG for Singapore, despite Malaysian's 2/3 zone defense tactic. Co-Captain Long Mingfa dished 11 assist with zero turnover, while Akhuga Chawla has five assists.

Ekram brothers from Malaysian both scored 17 points, and their star PG Chang Hengchang has 11 points and 10 assists.

Singapore will face Kazakhstan on next week game.
