Not much to say about this game, just a complete domination from the team today. I would go in to depth but a triple digit victory sort of speaks for itself

Next week we have our final match of the group, where we will be going up against the other remaining undefeated team in Chile. This will by far be our toughest match up to date, as whoever wins will finish the group in first place. They have a strong group of bigs that top their roster, followed by a few solid looking guards. We are excited for our first real challenge of the season, and are determined to get the win and finish atop our group!

Go USA!

Did you know that the worlds biggest swimming pool is in Chile? (And I’m not talking about the pool of tears all Chileans will create once we stomp their mediocre roster). The pool is in Algarrobo city in the Pacific coast.

Very convincing win for the squad against a quality opponent! Defense was lockdown tonight holding them to 51 points on 24% shooting. The big men were completely dominate, and shut down Chile's attempt at the reverse patient. Offense didn't play quite as well as I would have liked, but it got the job done. Practice this week will definitely be offensive oriented and I am confident we can put together a better showing on that side of the floor next game.

That concludes the first group of play for this season, and we finish at the top in 1st place. Our next group has not yet been decided so we do not know who we play next week. Whoever it is better be ready for a battle!

Decent game out of the squad today, although definitely could have been better. The team came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, taking a 27 point lead at half. The 3rd quarter was pretty even, but the 4th quarter got a bit ugly with the backups in play. It also did not help that our backup center got injured at the start of the 4th, so our reserve PG played at center the entire 4th quarter. At the end of the day, though, a win is a win and we take those.

Next week we got Mexico, who will be one of the tougher matchups of this second group. They are headed by a very strong 92k center Olivio Barcala, and behind him a 54k center Nicasio Munguia. They are then rounded out with a nice set of guards around the 20k range in terms of salary. It will be a tough matchup but we will prepare this week in practice and come to the game ready to work.

Last year, the USA Soccer team swept Mexico and beat them all 3 times in 2021. Soccer isn't even our main sport... Despite that, Mexico is going to wish they were playing soccer when we stomp them by 20 next week.

Complete dominance today, as we were in full control of the game from the start. The first half was good, nothing crazy but we went into the half up by 14. The 3rd quarter was a complete destruction of the Uruguay defense, along with them being locked up on offense. We outscored them by 30 in the quarter, 37-7. The backups came in for the full 4th quarter and put together a nice performance growing our lead just a little more. Webster had a great game shooting 9-13 with 23 points, adding on 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Polk did not have the best shooting day but still walked away with the double-double; 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Now next up is Mexico, I initially thought this week was Mexico but had the schedule switched, so my writeup for them is in the above post. A win in this game likely secures first place in our group heading into playoffs, so it is an important game for us. Let's secure that top spot!

Good overall win today that secures us 1st seed headed into the playoffs! Team played great through 3 quarters, but the backups came in and put up a lackluster performance in the 4th, making this game look a lot closer than it actually was. Lonnie Miller put up a great performance at the SG position, shooting 10-16 with 20 points and 5 assists. Not far behind him came Joseph Hobbs with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. We were also quite efficient from the FT line shooting 86% as a team.

Next week we get Dominican Republic, who is currently 1-2 and coming off a pretty brutal loss to Uruguay. They look to have some nice up and coming pieces for their future rosters, but as far as this season goes this should be a pretty routine and comfortable win. Playoff prep starts now!
