Season Wrap Up
Well it was a topsy turvy season with some good highs but we dropped some winnable games that cost us good draws and semi finals!
Lets start with the season competition- most points in the season was won by Hai Nguyen with 195pts. This was interrupted by a 2 week inury and some bad gameshape late in the season which could have put him up in the elite season scoring category. Closest margin picker was... Whitewind guessing 198pts. Given the purpose of the competition, ill give it to 2nd spot, which is Solesky guessing 182pts. Congrats mate, ill buy you a 3 month supporter for next season. Great to see youve got a u21 future SF player there in Rutgerson too!
Rebounds winner was Deano picking MacQuaid with 120 rebounds, ust 3 off, and no one picked Nguyen to take the assists count with the 45.

MVP count
Nguyen- 3, 3, 2, 2, 3= 13 votes
MacQuaid- 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 3= 12 votes
Papa- 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3=10 votes
Kusto- 3, 2, 2= 7 votes
Satyanraina- 1, 3, 3= 7 votes
Mitchell- 2, 1, 1, 1= 5 votes
Ho- 3, 2= 5 votes
Sanjiv- 2, 2= 4 votes
Barnden- 2, 1= 3 votes

Well done to the mighty rimmers for an u21 mvp, training Hai Nguyen. Nguyen is my 23rd u21 trainee that i have trained up for Australia u21s and 2nd MVP, giving our nation a continual source of u21 players to keep our nation competing. Nguyen narrowly took the count over MacQuaid who also had a super consistent season, trained by tommyg18 of the Melbourne Sloths. Tommy has committed to training for the u21s with Wallwork another cornerstone big man for season 57 in the program and future talent in Haturini. With trainers like this guy, Australia clings onto hopes of winning Asian trophies once again. But we need more. The depth of our current positions each season is so thin. Our minimum standards are met by only usually our starting players. So if you would like to have a try at training some of Australia's youth, with weekly training you can have an u21 player and build a strong base for your own team! Even better, chase a few Aussies for your utopia team and join in the training fun for our nation with your second team.

Id like to thank all of the managers who trained for our nation in season 56, special mention to Baxter Bogans who put 3 guys on our team this season and really added to our SG/SF depth as the season wore on. Those 3 are amazing trained guys that will cause all opposition teams headaches due to their versatility. Season 57 begins this week for us with scouting and a scrimmage against world number 2 Lithuania! Please bbmail me with all questions u21 related and keep training those young blokes- we need them!

Good hustle this season mate, wasn't able to be as involved in this one as we just got marched back into the office after a 3 month staycation working from home. Hopefully I'll be able to assist next season.

Appreciate the 2nd place trophy mate, congrats to all the managers who trained for this season.

What are your thoughts on our team for next season Whitewind?

Yeah i cannot sugar coat it, from what ive seen we will be a weaker side from this season. We had a couple of very well built guys to form a team around this season and i really feel we could have taken the gold asian trophy with it. Ho was our 2nd best PG based on TSP that we have seen. Nguyen was an absolute scoring beast. but gameshape and injuries didnt fall our way and it goes down as a season where those parts of the game heavily influenced our season. Hard to change those things though, certainly from strategy id like to think we got tactics well placed. Its only early days scouting though, still a lot of players to check before a team lineup is properly formed.

we defeated world number 2 Lithuania tonight https://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/64241/boxscore.aspx. Perhaps our hopes next season are a little more optimistic than i initally said.

Appreciate the shoutout whitewind! I'm looking forward to continuing to train players for our u21 team. Hopefully in the coming seasons I can train some more u21s players with my second team.

Yes scouting is only just starting, there may still be a few players ive missed to form a squad to pick from. Likely take around 12 into our 1st game. Game shape is really important as we will be in the 2nd chance draw coming out starting this Monday.
