Thanks! Yes, I also hope to be competitive, but won’t promise anything, though. Doles is for sale again (was just a short term solution for the manager, as he told me). Good that I called him up, because I feared those teams that would buy him for 30k and then fire him, meaning retirement. So, for now he‘s probably not going to play much, but I wouldn’t want to see him retire just now, either...

Have you read the mid-season announcements? That's really, really exciting news! Meaning that starting next season, there will (hopefully) be a lot more scottish draftees, hopefully some with high potential to be trained for the NT. And also more players that might help the U21. This is going to change the NTs of micro-nations for sure - and for good. I've had contact (meaning getting replies) of 4 managers training 22y olds from last season. We sure lack inside players with Doles again for sale and the other two diminishing in their skills. And some others playing too many minutes. I saw that you're training some inside players, TRUF. Those are going to be needed, and very fast!

This really is fun trying to "reset" the NT to make it competitive in the future. It's going to take about 6 seasons to start seeing results, I guess ... I hope you bear with me and then TRUF (who's hopefully continuing to implement young players into the roster). After we're out of the tournament, I'll really start with the rebuilding process. Players that shouldn't be part of the roster (yet) may get some playing time to motivate their managers to continue training them. Just to let you guys know what my intentions are...

Yes, soon small nations will be able to become stronger. However, the NT team will get a boost later than the U21s. I think by the end of the season it is necessary to outline some plan, how and who to train

I‘d rather outlay that plan now, rather sooner than later. Highlander is training the NTs future guards. But does have too many young players to give everyone training. So maybe we could find someone who could take on some of his trainees and continue their training? And I guess you‘re destined to train the frontcourt players...right now I‘m sitting in a train so it‘s not so easy via mobile phone to navigate the site and make a plan. But I intend to make suggestions to you, might take until the end of next week, maybe sooner. And then we‘ll talk.

I am not selling any players (Lyle, Fitchy, Boyd, MacNeilly, Fletcher) as I want to stay homegrown. But I am willing to sell my draftees and have accumulated lots of draft points. I am sure that Lyle, Fitchy and Boyd will be part of the national team for a long time. They already have a TSP of 100+. MacNeilly's TSP is also in the mid 90s. Fletcher is a wasted talent, I am aware of that, but he will be a solid role player for my homegrown team.

As for my Utopia team, I am trying to "save" Jim MacIlvride who has high potential, but a low TSP (52) for a 20 year old.

Yes, I thought you had told me something alike. It‘s just important that the three main guys (Lyle, Fitchy, Boyd) will get the best training, they‘re three pillars for the new scottish NT. MacNeilly will probably not get into the NT if he‘s trainee no 4, but you never know. More
important is that you‘ll have some good draftees to sell. And saving a 20y old with high potential is worthwile, at least for the moment in scotland. I‘ve done the same with a couple of korean players. Almost all of them ended up on the NT. But it’s not the easiest path after having lost 2 full seasons of training. But as I said, not impossible and I‘m very glad that you‘re trying everything to get scotland moving up again! Thanks!!

Thanks for the info. Yes, he‘s finally out if the cup and therefore his minutes seem to be ok...still not ideal if you have to rely on his manager to lose in the cup in order to get good GS but I guess we‘ll have to take what we have.

Well, that hurts. I was pretty sure they wouldn’t go with LI and either go with LP or PtB. So I decided to put a half GDP. Turns out I bet on the wrong horse (is that even a saying in Scotland?). Anyway. Let‘s hope that despite the wrong GDP we‘ll have a shot at winning this game. Winning it is almost impossible as Norway is way better than us and did not underestimate us. But we‘ll see...

Well, I guess it was still worth a try. But even without the wrong GDP, we probably would have lost. The third quarter killed us. But still - a nice enough effort of our (mainly) old guys. I really wanted to win that game but hey - we're not there yet. We also need a lot of luck, even better GS and most importantly: more young guys that get perfect training. But we're working on that, aren't we? So we'll have to be patient for now ... thanks for sticking with me. Even though it's mostly losses as I "promised" .. (and I really don't like losing at all, just to make that clear ...)

Not much to say. I wanted to win that game. And would have. If not for Rory‘s injury after 11 minutes. And with Doles in better GS we still would have won. But losing that game really sucks. Even if I promised you I‘d not win many games and be the worst NT manager if you just looked at the win-loss-ratio. But ok. That‘s life. It‘s still not a bad season. the two 22y olds did a good job today and earn precious experience. Next season, more young guys will join the team. And. that shall be the start of a new scottish team that will be competitive in about 6-7 seasons, with some luck even a bit earlier...

Thaks for helping me and communicating with me (even if it sometimes takes a couple of days or more to reply)...
