The Lions easily won against a weaker Cyprus tonight. The unfortunate injury of our subs C Decant made the point average less impressive than what it might have been, but on good side we could see a newcomer, De Sloovere, in action. Congrats to our starting outside players, Put and Jacoby, for scoring so much on an inside tactic !

Where do we stand now ?

We hold a 4/4 record together with Finland but are behind on point average. They are also a team which I don't think can be beaten.

Behind us there are 2 teams with 3/1 : Greece and England. Guess who we'll play now ? Greece, England and Finland (in that order) :p

We have the advantage because both Greece and England have to play against Finland as well, meaning we hold a one win advantage as well as a 40 PA advance on Greece and 70 (!) over England.

The qualification is getting very close, but things can also go considerably wrong.

Please, remember to have your NT players in best possible playing shape !

That's a win against Greece !! Oh my god that feels just good. We expected a marginal win or a marginal defeat on this game, but this is well beyond my expectations. Of course, Greece's missed GDP played a major role, I won't deny it. But the chose tactics proves we have a lot of flexibility with this team, and while we may not have the most impressive roster around, we definitely have a good range of choice in how to play, and that's really a pleasure for the NT manager I am.

Where do we stand now ? Well on the second spot, behind the unbeattable Finland, with 2 more wins and a very important PA advantage.

Mathematically we should wait for next week, but we can already say : QUALIFICATION IS A FACT !!
