I think 4 foul outs in a single game is a Referee Targeting Record.

Dolled up a little tracker for interconference games - if both teams are the same color, the Great 8 team hosts the game. If both teams are opposite colors, the Big 8 team hosts the game. Win/Loss is marked from the perspective of the ~~better conference~~ Big 8. Teams are organized in order of my rough memory of what order they were out of the first same-conference round robin.

Seems like a couple little road surprises so far in favor of the B8. Interesting to see how the second half goes.

Well, the Big 8 has already improved on last season's 15-49 record, and now we go for the interconference win tonight (currently 27 wins for the Big 8 and 29 for the Great 8). Best of luck to everyone!

And down to the wire we go, as the final round robin starts tonight! The Big 8 promises substantial fireworks, with 5 teams competing for 3 playoff spots separated by a single game through interconference play. Meanwhile, over in the Great 8, there are two clear tiers of the haves and have nots, but will there be any surprises during the jockeying for seeding?

Big 8 Preview (Part 1)
Minnesota Mean Machine: With 5 wins in hand and 2 easy wins on the schedule, the playoffs already seem a certainty, but the recent injury to Bourque left the team vulnerable and put them a step behind in the race for HCA in the Finals. Can Bourque and the team round back into form and recapture the dominance of the Big 8? Or will they fade under the pressure and the length of the season? Important games: @ Mos Eisley Imperials (7/18, TV); v Necrons (7/22, Rival); @ The Walking Dead (7/25, Opp's Rival)

The Walking Dead: A deep cup run and some recent inattention from the manager has left the team's stars looking depleted. Will the team be able to right the ship in time to stave off disaster and make the playoffs? Or do they bottom out and slide to the 6th place relegation series? Important games: @ The Rugarus (7/22, Opp's Rival); v Minnesota Mean Machine (7/25, Rival); @ Djibouti Kraken (8/1, Opp's Rival, playoff implications)

The Rugarus: After getting consolidated back and forth between several different d.IV leagues, they finally broke through last season and won promotion convincingly. They then rode that momentum to a 4-3 start in the first round robin, plus two wins over likely playoff teams from the Great 8. But their schedule crammed together the two hardest interconference games followed the four "playoff round robin" games in five match days for the final round robin -- can Caldwell and Staton carry them through to a d.III playoff spot before they have to yield to the younger generation? Important games: v The Walking Dead (7/22, Rival, playoff implications); @ Djibouti Kraken (7/25, playoff implications); @ Great Lakes Glaciers (7/29, TV, playoff implications)

Mos Eisley Imperials: A season removed from a surprise first season promotion and struggling to stay up with a below minimum salary roster, the Imperials have taken the next step with their young core and are riding high above .500 for the first time this late in the season. But will future U21 hopefuls Vaughn and Stevens be enough to push the team through into the playoffs alongside the veteran addition of Brook? The team doesn't have any back to back games against the teams in the playoff tangle, but compensates for that with all four critical games being away. Important games: @ The Rugarus (7/15, playoff implications); @ Great Lakes Glaciers (7/22, playoff implications); @ The Walking Dead (7/29, playoff implications); @ Djibouti Kraken (8/5, Rival, playoff implications)

Big 8 Preview (Part 2)
Great Lakes Glaciers: The Glaciers emerged from the scrum last season with two impressive closing wins and the conference's second seed. But their roster has stood still while the conference improved around them, and they're left with the sixth highest total weekly salary and currently on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Can they leverage their more aggressive team management and home court advantages in the final round robin and charge back intot he playoffs? Or will they falter in the pressure of the crucible? Important games: vs The Walking Dead (7/15, playoff implications); @ Djibouti Kraken (7/18, playoff implications); vs Mos Eisley Imperials (7/22, playoff implications); vs The Rugarus (7/29, TV, playoff implications)

Djibouti Kraken: Led by Harp and Aglipay, the Kraken stormed into III.14 with a dominating performance and made the playoffs in their season 60 debut. Will four home games against contenders and the recent addition of veteran help from Dash push them over the top and help them rise above the heap? Or do they remain too outside focused to survive the bruising play of the playoff push? Important games: v Great Lakes Glaciers (7/18, playoff implications); v The Walking Dead (8/1, Rival, playoff implications); v Mos Eisley Imperials (8/5, Opp's Rival, playoff implications)

Necrons: With a roster of impressive talent, the team stood as the barrier to a playoff spot in season 60. But an absentee manager and the witherings of age have taken their toll, and now the Necrons stand on the verge of relegation.

Miami Mallards: A reroll into immediate promotion proved too daunting, and the team has been marking time with an auto-manager before returning to d.IV in season 62

Great 8 Preview (Part 1)
Virginia Beach Freaks: An early cup exit left the team poised to dominate league play and potentially secure auto promotion via an undefeated season. But a faltered step against the Mean Machine leaves them with little margin for error, and they need to run the table in the harder conference to secure playoff HCA. Games away to Lahser and Ferth Ozone bookend the schedule, meaning the question of HCA and potential auto promotion may loom until the season's last matchday. Important games: @ Lahser (7/15, playoff seeding); v Shandong Golden Lions (7/29, TV Rival, playoff seeding); @ Ferth Ozone (8/5, Opp's Rival, playoff seeding)

Ferth Ozone: Like the Freaks, the Ozone went 6-1 in interconference play, though their loss to the Imperials was a somewhat more shocking upset. Will their two wins in hand be enough to secure a playoff home game, despite them being the only Great 8 playoff team not to add via the transfer market this season? Or will they fall behind in the arms race and end the season with an early exit? Important games: v Lahser (7/25, Opp's Rival, playoff seeding); @ Shandong Golden Lions (8/1, Opp's Rival, playoff seeding); v Virginia Beach Freaks (8/5, Rival, playoff seeding)

Lahser: Added two solid big man trainees at the start of the season, and the recent addition of Cecchi to start the arms race season have pushed them to the highest salaried team in the league. But a deep cup run left them vulnerable in interconference play, dropping three games to teams in the playoff push round robin and preventing them from building as much enthusiasm as the teams above them in the standings. Do they have the ammunition left to push the arms race further, or will they flame out short of a top 2 finish? The front loading of their final round robin schedule could eliminate them early or lead to a late surprise. Important games: v Virginia Beach Freaks (7/15, playoff seeding); v Shandong Golden Lions (7/22, playoff seeding); @ Ferth Ozone (7/25, Rival, playoff seeding)

Shandong Golden Lions: Avoided the game 8 cupset at the hands of the Imperials this season by virtue of having their game against Jaguars that same week. But then dropped a game to The Rugarus the week after they flamed out of the cup, after having dropped a game to Great 8 outsiders Sac City Rip in week 1. Will Dr. Jekyll (and Choi Kwan, the biggest arms race purchase so far this season) or Mr. Hyde (the team that dropped games to the Rip and the Rugarus) show up down the stretch? Important games: @ Lahser (7/22, playoff seeding); @ Virginia Beach Freaks (7/29, TV Opp's Rival, playoff seeding); v Ferth Ozone (8/1, Rival, playoff seeding)

Great 8 Preview (Part 2)
Frogmonsters: New centerpieces Drobnjak and Doyle have pushed the team into the middle tier of conference salaries and helped separate the team from the "have nots" tier in the Great 8. But a lack of depth and four losses in interconference play have left the team adrift 3 games out of playoff contention. Will they try to make one more addition to push forward with their veteran core? Or will the glorious return to d.III end in a relegation series? Important games: v Ferth Ozone (7/15, TV); @ Shandong Golden Lions (7/25, playoff implications); v Lahser (8/5, playoff implications)

Sac City Rip:The lustre of a week 1 upset over the Golden Lions quickly wore off, as the team struggled through a 7 game losing streak and eventually only took 2 games in interconference play. With a very hard relegation series awaiting the Great 8 6th seed, can the Rip pull off a surprise run to safety? Or will their below conference average salaries and having critical games away leave them struggling to stay up? Important games: @ Shandong Golden Lions (7/18); @ Frogmonsters (7/29, Rival, seeding); vs Lahser (8/1)

Astromechs: Another team who was sadly ripped from us. Botting in the middle of interconference play may help play kingmaker in the Big 8, but should have minimal impact to the Great 8 seeding race.

Jaguars: A heartbreaking loss to Necrons left the team needing an upset in the final round robin to avoid automatic relegation. But even 7th place would win the prize of an away relegation series to a team that narrowly missed the playoffs, so the team's future is likely a return to d.IV. But a four game cup run and a season of shrewd financial management may leave the team in position to quickly rebound for a return to d.III. Important games: @ Sac City Rip (7/15); v Lahser (7/18, TV); @ Frogmonsters (7/22)
